[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. Welcome, welcome, welcome to Candidly 30. Wow, that was beautiful. I just had my husband look through and find me sound dampeners. So, like the things that you stick on the wall that are supposed to. [00:00:44] Speaker B: Like, help with whatever sound. [00:00:48] Speaker A: I know I have them up today. This is the first recording that we're trying out with the new additions. I know. Just, you know, get an upgrade over here. [00:00:56] Speaker B: It does sound really good. Cool. I'm okay. It's a Sunday, so just trying to get that stuff done. I literally have like a list that I'm. I've been a list girly lately because I feel like I just can't get enough things done. It's insane. But yeah, I did a bunch of errands this morning. Yeah, I love. No, I love a list that's like my favorite thing to cross stuff off. Ugh. So. So good. So satisfying. I have cook cookbook club tomorrow, so I had to get some groceries for that. I got my car washed, which. That just sounds stupid, but it's so necessary. Like, the inside was covered in dog hair and I went backpacking last weekend and so there was dirt from that. And yeah, there's just. It just needed a good little wash. Yeah, I did a bunch of Marketplace running around. I did some Facebook Marketplace in this morning and I got some cool stuff. I got Crazy Creek, which it sounds stupid, but it was only $20. Crazy creeks are like 80 something dollars if you buy them brand new. And so I was stoked to find that. That's a great find. It's. It's like a little chair. So it's like just one of the ones that you have. Like, it's two pieces essentially, and they like fold together, but like they have little sides so you can adjust it and you just like lean back in it. So when you're like sitting on the ground when you're backpacking, they're like lightweight. I like to put it on the paddle board so you can like sit on the paddle board and just chill and not have to. I just like some support on my back or watching a concert. It can be for like so many things. But yeah, they're just stupidly priced at full price. So I was stoked to find one on Marketplace for 20 bucks. So. And then I got this really cool hydro flask, like, camelback backpack situation. That's sweet. Like a little day pack for 15, like, bro. Okay. Anyways. Yeah, and then I got this really cool sun Patagonia sun shirt for the jmt, which is a whole other topic of convo. But I'm gonna hike the gmt, everybody. So in September, Sam and I are heading out, and I got approved to go from work, so it just, like, feels like it's all falling into place. How the heck are you? What's going on? [00:03:18] Speaker A: Things are good. I gotta say, I love the Sundays that there's, like, not a lot planned and it's laundry and I'm just, you know, getting cleaned and. Yeah, it just feels like my kind of day. And it's always the best day to podcast, so I've just been, like, planning out the rest of the year and figuring out what guests to reach out to. So I've got Hood to coast on technically, like, Friday morning, which I will tell you about in just a minute. But I've been prepping today, so I made, like, little coconut bars. It's like coconut and maple syrup. It was really good. And then I also made, like, a choco protein ball with dates and oats and stuff like that. So it's just like, a little chocolate ball for the morning and then some, like, coconut bars that if we need something sweet, you know. So, yeah, and I'm. I pulled out my. Like, I bought a new pack backpacking tent and a little backpacking mat. So I am just getting it all out and, like, cleaning it, making sure it all works and, you know, how. I know how to set it up and whatever, because we have to. I'll tell you about it in a minute. But, yeah, I'm just kind of prepping for the week. Prepping for Hood to Coast and. And getting everything clean. I've got, like, four or five loads of laundry, and we've got chicken broth on the stove right now, so I feel like. Yeah, okay, don't judge me for this, but if we had some oversight from Martha Stewart, she would be very happy. I feel like we make Mama Martha proud sometimes. [00:04:56] Speaker B: Yeah, I definitely, like, mow my lawn, and I cut back a bunch of plants. Plants that are just like, getting overgrown from summertime just so I don't have to do it later in the year. Kind of, like break up the. The yard work, you know? So, yeah, Martha would be so proud. You're, like, cooking and all this stuff. And now I'm doing yard work, so. Working on our garden. [00:05:17] Speaker A: Look at us. [00:05:17] Speaker B: Just no big. [00:05:18] Speaker A: We had adults. I love it. Good for us. [00:05:22] Speaker B: Yeah, it has been. I only wish that I like. [00:05:25] Speaker A: So I'm glad to be here. [00:05:27] Speaker B: I just wish I had more time to actually, like, enjoy doing yard work. I feel like right now, y work is a chore because I'm never home, and it feels like I have to, like, fit it in when I can. And so it feels really rushed and, like, not enjoyable at the moment. But I hope someday that it, like, feels fun again because I just, like, want to have a garden and do all that stuff again. But it's okay. It is what it is. It's weird. [00:05:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:55] Speaker B: For sure. [00:05:55] Speaker A: It's been. Yeah. Really heavy year. Full of lots of activities and. [00:06:01] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:01] Speaker A: But I did plant a bunch of stuff in my backyard in my front yard this year. So next year, this time, I'll let you guys know how well it went and what stays alive. We'll see. [00:06:11] Speaker B: Yeah. I can't wait to see it. Yeah. I really do need to come visit. Holy moly. So many things going on, but, well. [00:06:18] Speaker A: Like you said, 2055 has been kind of crazy. Also, I'm digging your, like, old school Nike shirt that you're wearing right now. [00:06:26] Speaker B: Dude, this is vintage. It's. [00:06:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:29] Speaker B: Have you seen this? Have you seen me wear this before? It has a lizard on the back. It's really cool. Thrift store for, like, $4 or something, but I love it. It's so cute. [00:06:41] Speaker A: I love it. [00:06:41] Speaker B: It's pink. [00:06:42] Speaker A: Okay. I'm here for the pink Nike. We did. Okay. So I totally forgot to mention, like, why just this last Friday, we got back from Portland, or we got back to Portland from a week and a half, basically, or like, a week of driving. So we went to my mom's house and we spent three days in the pool. I came back kind of tan. Can you tell? [00:07:02] Speaker B: Yeah. You do look really tan. I was gonna say. Yeah, totally. [00:07:06] Speaker A: Just a little bit. And then we went to Solvang. [00:07:09] Speaker B: And. [00:07:09] Speaker A: Have you spent a lot of time in Solvang, California? [00:07:13] Speaker B: No, just that one time that we went. Right. Didn't we go to go to her castle and stuff? [00:07:18] Speaker A: Well, that was in Cambria. But, yeah, it's close. Close. Ish. There's a big fire that's going on, like, right above Solvang, like, right east of San Luis Obispo. Anyway, there's big fires. The air quality wasn't the greatest, but my husband knows the guy who owns the skate shop in Solvang. So we just drove to Morro Bay, where my parents have that trailer. And then we drove to Solvang, and we just, like, walked around, bopped and spent, like, two hours in the skate shop, went to a record store, and then just, like, shopped and got treats and things like that. But it was a really cute town. And yeah, I don't know. I was like, pleasantly surprised by Solvang. It wasn't really going in with a big expectation, but it was a cute little town. Super touristy for sure. But yeah. [00:08:06] Speaker B: Anyway, that's awesome. Oh, and a good like, little way to end summer kind of trip, if I can just. So your brother, we gone now? [00:08:15] Speaker A: Yep, he's officially gone. Stayed about five weeks with us. We got so much stuff done. New electrical lights. Like, I have new light fixtures in my office and my backyard. We have like a bunch of cameras up and stuff like that. Yeah. Feel like I'm so ready for summer to be over, which sounds awful because I know. [00:08:37] Speaker B: No, same. That is exactly how I'm feeling right now. I was like, never have I ever wished away summer, not once in my life. And right now I'm just like, please, dear God. And I just want to like, sit on my couch. That's all I want. I just want to sit on the couch for an extended period of time. So long that I get bored of being on the couch. Which sounds impossible at the moment, but. Oh, baby, yeah, that is real. [00:08:58] Speaker A: I'm kind of ready for all of the busyness to just settle down a little bit and just focus on like work and my house and. I don't know, but I am prepping for. So September is going to be the formal 30 whole 30 with like all the, you know, people on the socials and everybody sponsoring it in third in September. So I think I might do that if I can survive. But I'm not planning to do anything in September, so I'm excited for the whole month. [00:09:24] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, nice. Wait, so tell us a little bit about Hood to Coast, will you? Give. I know you talked about it before, but how. What like, legs are you doing? Like, what's the plan? Currently? Yep. [00:09:37] Speaker A: Okay, so the email just came out this last week. So we've all been on like the group chat for the last few days, like prepping and picking, like figuring out who's. Who's doing what and what's happening this Friday, which I think is August 22nd if I'm not mistaken. At like 3:30am I am running like 6.84 miles. It's gonna be from. From the top of Timberline Lodge. Like I'm the sixth leg in or the fifth leg in, so there's going to be a few people who run before me. And then I start at 3:30. I run 6.8. Most of it's downhill, so I don't have to Worry about a lot of elevation, which is really great. The 6.8 something run is the longest run that I have. And then so I have to like be in the van driving to Timberland Lodge. Timberline. Am I saying that right? Timberline, yeah, yeah, timberline at like 1:45am on Friday. So it's gonna be a day. [00:10:38] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure. It's gonna be so fun, though. Oh, my gosh. I'm gonna be like on living on adrenaline and stuff. [00:10:45] Speaker A: Yeah, totally. So it starts really early Friday. And then the next leg that I have doesn't happen until like 5 o' clock that day, like closer to Portland. I think it's technically around North Portland that I have my next run and it's only like 4 or 3.8 or something like that. So, you know, not too, too bad. Still four miles. And then I will sleep in a field because I think our overnight is that night outside of Portland on the west side. And then I end another four mile run on Saturday morning at like 7am or something like that. And then then we are all done basically by that afternoon and we're driving back to Portland that evening. [00:11:32] Speaker B: Okay. [00:11:33] Speaker A: Yeah, two vans. We've got 12 people running. It's like 193 miles from the top of Mount Hood all the way down to Seaside. [00:11:42] Speaker B: Fun. And. [00:11:43] Speaker A: Yeah, it'll be good, everybody. Yeah, I feel like a little bit more prepared for this than I did Castle Cascade Lakes, because I kind of know what to expect. Not really sure about the overnight accommodations I'm gonna see. That's why I got the tent. Because of course I want to be backpacking and stuff. Which I want to talk to you about Lake Waldo, but later for next year. [00:12:05] Speaker B: Okay. [00:12:05] Speaker A: Anyway, so, yeah, I. I think it'll be good, but I'm prepping. I'm trying to do my leg exercises because my caps have been kind of giving me a hard time. And I've been running, you know, not aggressively, but I've been trying to keep up with it. And every time I hit like two, two miles, my feet go numb. Like, my toes go numb. And I'm wondering if it's. [00:12:25] Speaker B: Whoa. [00:12:27] Speaker A: I know. I'm wondering if it's my shoes, but I tried trail running shoes and they didn't work during Cascade Lake. So I don't know. [00:12:34] Speaker B: I'm. [00:12:35] Speaker A: I'm at a loss. We're gonna see how this one goes and then reassess and maybe talk to other people who have shoe recommendations. So if anybody have shoe recommendation, most of it's going to be on the road, though, so it's not, like, a lot of trail running and at night, so I have to, like, wear a headband or a headlamp. I gotta find my. Actually, I have those, like, reflective vests. They're so obnoxious. And I gotta figure out, like, it's. [00:13:00] Speaker B: Gonna be so fun. [00:13:02] Speaker A: Yeah, it'll be great. I'm excited. And I'll have a full recap of everything. But I am. I'm pretty. I'm pretty. Feeling pretty good about it at least, anyway. [00:13:12] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't think you were just camping, right? Four miles. That would be a lot for me. I mean, I just haven't run in so long that. That would be really hard. Yeah. Good luck. I'm so excited to hear all about it. Can't wait for an update. But, yeah, I did just go camping. I went to Paina. I've never been there before, so that was really cool. It was nice to see it. Finally there was no service up there, which is, like, kind of refreshing, actually. And, yeah, we just, like. The weather has been kind of weird this weekend. Like, there it was, like, 98 degrees on Monday, and then, like, 96 on Tuesday, and then it started, like, thundering on Friday. And it's been rainy. It was all rainy yesterday. And today is just, like, kind of cool. And it's sunny, but it's cool. So. Yeah, but we're gonna get it back up into the 80s this week, I think. But, yeah, it's just been, like, kind of a weird weekend. So it was nice to be in Paulina and get to see, like, the. In the RV and just get to, like, sleep with the rain and stuff. It was, like, really cozy. And we just, like, watched Happy Gilmore 2 yesterday morning. So. [00:14:18] Speaker A: Hilarious. [00:14:19] Speaker B: Yeah, it was actually really cute. I thought it was gonna be terrible. I mean, most, like, twos are terrible, you know, but this one was actually, like, pretty cute. I was very pleasantly surprised. Yeah. And Adam Sandler looks great. I mean, he looks old, but he looks great. And there's so many people in the movie, like, so many cameos and stuff. It was insane. And then also, like, just how old all the. The people that were in the first one look now is. I felt I was like, like, people. [00:14:46] Speaker A: Don'T do that to yourself. [00:14:48] Speaker B: Yeah, no, it's not me. It's them. [00:14:50] Speaker A: They look terrible. [00:14:51] Speaker B: Like, holy. But, yeah, anyway, so, yeah, it was nice just to, like, get to chill and. And it's weird being. It's weird camping and just getting to, like, watch a movie inside is kind of funny. But, yeah, I was into it. I was happy about it because I haven't really had the time to just, like, lay in bed. So it was really nice. And yeah, today I. We came back for a barbecue at a friend's house yesterday, and so we went to that, and that was really lovely. And then I just got to chill, relax, and get some stuff done. So, yeah, that's been my progress today. And then tomorrow, just straight back at it, back into the office, and lots of activities to do. [00:15:32] Speaker A: So, anywho, are you lucky there in Bend? Like, people are nice to you, and it's easy and cozy. [00:15:39] Speaker B: Oh, everyone's lovely. It's just stupid. Like, it just doesn't make sense for me to be there. It's literally the dumbest thing in the world. But, yeah, the office is awesome. My office is great. I share it with one other girl who works for the national park Service as well. She works out of the Denver service Center. She's lovely. And, like, we were talking about it, like, we talk, like, pretty much all day every day. And she. I was like, you are now the person that I spend the most time with in the world because we spend nine hours together every day. Like, we talk about so much stuff. Stuff. And yeah, she's super cool, so I'm very thankful that she's awesome. But everyone in the office is really, really great. They're like a field office, so a lot of them are in the field a lot of the time. So it is kind of quiet in the. In the office. But yeah, it's great. I mean, besides the fact that, like, all the work is just, like, so unknown and all the stupid that's going on with everything. Yeah, but the office is awesome. And I'm very thankful, actually. So random. I was getting. When I told you I got my car washed, I pulled up into this parking spot, and I look over and there's a person in the car next to me. And he actually worked at the Prineville office with me. And I was like, hi. And he's like, what the heck? Like, did you just disappear? Like, you don't go to the Prineville office anymore? And I was like, yeah, sorry. I got my offices changed. So anyways, that was just random to, like, run into him and bend. But yeah, so now we're here, and we're gonna do some faves for you guys because it just sounded really nice. Cafe was sending me music this morning, and I was like, I have just feel like I have a lot of stuff I've been Buying a lot of stuff lately for the JMT and things like that. Just like prepping and. Yeah. Just been traveling a lot that I feel like I have a lot of faves going on right now. So we're gonna get into some faves. Yeah. [00:17:29] Speaker A: Do you want to start like. Yeah, totally. It's been, I feel like it's been almost two or three months since we've like talked faves. So this is a good post summer, getting ready for jmt, getting ready for Hood to Coast kind of time. But I gotta tell you, first and foremost, I did my nails last night because I've been really good. Everybody about not getting my nails done. It's so expensive. I'm just like practicing and doing it myself. Anyway, I went to Rite Aid because Rite Aid's closing, so all of their items and everything is 50 off. And I'm like. Well, I'm definitely going to take advantage of this because. [00:18:04] Speaker B: Wait, every writing expensive stuff or just your. [00:18:08] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm pretty sure that every Rite Aid is closing. So. Yeah, they're all. They had to go bankrupt. So this was like a couple of months ago. They went bankrupt, I think. And so all these various stores are closing and like, I don't know who it's. I don't know what's gonna happen, but I really hope that it's not just the spirit store that like buys up all this property. I'm hoping that they kind of solve this solution with like an Amazon pharmacy or something. [00:18:33] Speaker B: Oh my God. The spirit store went into our Rite Aid spot. That is so funny that you said that's. I think that that's. Wow. Spirit just moved in. They just moved in real quick. [00:18:45] Speaker A: Yeah, I think that's been happening like all over the place. Spirits just been like locking in this Rite Aid location because it's probably the cheaper than dirt, basically. I don't know. Anyway, so I'm taking advantage of this bankruptcy and I'm going in and I'm like looking at various Rite Aids. I've been to like three or four of them right now because I want to find all the good stuff that's half off. Because nail polishes and like makeup and lip gloss, lip oils. You can spend like 60 to $80 on a full price item and then if you can get it for half off or like less than $12, hell yeah, I'm about that. So I've just been kind of about like six or seven nail polishes. The one that I want to talk about first that's on my list is called offbeat. Chic. And it's this really cute turquoise color. [00:19:30] Speaker B: Yeah, it's really pretty, guys. It's like a little darker. Yeah, I like it. It's definitely a cave color for sure. Actually it looks very similar to mine. Mine. This is very purpley blue. Yeah, purple, yeah, for sure. [00:19:43] Speaker A: I like that we're on point with our little jewel colored jewel tone nails or whatever. Anyway, yeah. So, yeah, hot tip though, writing someone out of business. [00:19:53] Speaker B: Damn. [00:19:54] Speaker A: Go stock up. Because like, you know, I got two or three of the Essie gel cover, you know? You know what I mean? Like, they're half off. Might as well just use a bunch of those since I've been doing my nails a lot more lately. So just go stock up. Because everything's 50% off, even their wines and food. [00:20:16] Speaker B: Wow. [00:20:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:18] Speaker B: Crazy. [00:20:19] Speaker A: It's not great wine. [00:20:20] Speaker B: I'll have to look to see if people like. That's awesome. Okay, let's see. My first one, I guess since we've been talking about the JMT is going to be so. I know. Okay. Sam and I were talking about this when we were in the Dolomites. Is like, it's so true that if you just buy high quality stuff that it lasts longer, it feels better. Like it just works better, like, whatever. So don't judge me. I feel like I'm losing my voice, but don't judge, judge me. But I bought Patagonia like hiking shorts and they're like annoyingly expensive. These ones weren't too bad. They were like $60, but. And that's just like too much money for me to spend on shorts. But I bought them for the GMT in hopes that, you know, that they're quick drying and that they won't smell like they're moisture wicking. They're like, whatever, smell resistant, all the things. Because I'm gonna wear one pair of shorts the entire time, so. And I really like them. They're like the craziest material. They feel so nice compared to any other biker short I have ever like, bought before. So that's really nice. And yeah, just like Patagonia. I actually don't remember what the actual name of them are, but they're like their only biker short. So. Yeah, it just like, it's crazy that I am just now realizing that if you buy like high quality stuff, it actually like feels better and works better and you don't feel so gross all the time. So. Yeah, that's my first one. [00:21:55] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure. I have to clarify something about the jmt. How many days are you out there. [00:22:05] Speaker B: We're going to be hiking, actively hiking for 16 days. And. Yeah, we're going to have 16 days. [00:22:12] Speaker A: And you're going to wear one pair. [00:22:13] Speaker B: Of shorts, two resupplies. Yeah, I'm going to wear one of everything. I'm not going to carry extra clothes for no reason. So. [00:22:25] Speaker A: Are you going to wash them in between? [00:22:26] Speaker B: Wash just a little in the river dunk. Okay, okay. Okay. [00:22:32] Speaker A: Okay. [00:22:32] Speaker B: No, I mean, I'll. I'll bring that, like, stuff that you wash things. I mean. Yeah, we're going to be stinky. That's just. It is what it is. Like, I'm already nervous about how much weight I have to carry because we have to carry bear cans and all of. We're going to do, like, kind of heavy food loads because we're just getting two resupplies. So. Yeah, it's gonna be. Gonna be interesting. So. Yeah, we'll see. [00:23:00] Speaker A: We'll see what happens. [00:23:01] Speaker B: We have to carry, like, lots of layers too, because, like, it could rain in September. It could be really cold. It could be really hot. We don't really know. There could be mosquitoes. There could not be mosquitoes. Like, who knows? I don't really know. We'll find out, so. [00:23:16] Speaker A: Oh, man. [00:23:17] Speaker B: The less clothes, the better. [00:23:18] Speaker A: All right, my next extras. So that I'm gonna talk about. Next one that I'm gonna talk about. I just went to Trader Joe's because I'm doing my, like, weekend things, going to Trader Joe's and getting all my, like, you know, vegetables and whatever. And I found that they have a new seasonal item. It's the chili lime fried pork rinds. Have you had these before? I thought that they were new. [00:23:45] Speaker B: No. Are they good? [00:23:49] Speaker A: They're pretty delish. I mean, I bought two bags and my husband and I already ate both of them, like, two days ago. So they didn't last very long in the house and were very much like snacky salt and salty fatty things. So it was perfect. I cannot recommend these more. I think I'm gonna go back before Hood to Coast and, like, grab two more box or bags of it. So anyway, the chili lime fried pork rinds from Trader Joe's. Our chef's Kiss. Super good. [00:24:20] Speaker B: Yum. That sounds great. I kind of have, like, a throwback or not throwback, but we talked about it before. The raspberry cold foam from Starbies is, like, new and just, like, limited time right now. I did try it the other day. I think that I'm just not really into their cold brew. This is One thing I will give you, Kaif, is that Starbucks cold brew is, like, really intense. So anyways, I just, like, didn't love. I guess I could have got the cold foam on something else, but I just didn't think about it. But anyway, yeah, the. The raspberry cold foam is actually really delicious and actually tastes really raspberry. It's very, like, authentic tasting and it's not super sweet or anything. So, yeah, it's amazing. And then, yeah, I will say that I. They have like, Shoot, I can't remember what it's called, but they have like other food options that are seasonal right now too, which I think is kind of a weird seasonal drop. Like it's like the end of summer and not fall yet, you know, but whatever. Not my problem. But yeah, so definitely try the raspberry or cold foam if you really like the cold foam. Starbies, because they're always good. [00:25:29] Speaker A: I did. It was like a week or two ago that I tried just a little sampler of it and the cold foam was very sweet. Like, I don't know if you'd want to take a full like. Like a quarter cup of it and put it in your mouth. That wasn't the best experience, but it's a good flavor. It's just the cold brew and foam is not my favorite, but if that's your thing, it's your thing. It's just a little too sweet for me. But yeah, I did try it because I know we talked about it earlier. [00:25:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:59] Speaker A: And you're right. It's a weird transitional season that it's like kind of late summer right before fall. I don't know, maybe like, maybe a month or two before fall. But this is the perfect time to have peaches. Have you had any yellow peaches? Are you a nectarine kind of girl? Because I love peaches. My grandmother just had. I was back at home. [00:26:22] Speaker B: Right. [00:26:23] Speaker A: Would like. [00:26:23] Speaker B: So I don't like, gravitate towards them. [00:26:25] Speaker A: She had a friend of hers. Yeah. Anyway, a friend of hers had grown peaches and my mom, my grandmother brought them over after dinner and it was like, so good. I had to eat two or three of them. Yellow peaches. Yum. [00:26:46] Speaker B: Yeah. One of. We went camping this weekend and one of the friends brought peaches from their tree and I just hadn't had one really this year yet. And so it was so good. But I don't like. Yeah, like I said, I don't like, go for them typically. But if someone has one off of a tree, Chef's kiss. So yummy. [00:27:06] Speaker A: Yeah, they've. They've been selling these, like, Saturn peaches at Trader Joe's, which I have not tried, but I really wanted to buy them. So I can see the difference between, like, this, I guess, varietal. I don't know. Anyway, so peaches, that's my next fav. [00:27:28] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't know anything about them. I've never tried them either. Oh, nice. Okay, my next one is gonna be a drink. So this is actually, like, not new to me, but I haven't talked about it on the POD before. So last year, Samantha Stacks texted me and was like, you must find this drink because it's from the area. It's from Hood River. It's called Kyla is the brand. And it's a hard kombucha, and it's from Hood river, like I said. And it's a lavender lemonade, like, alcoholic drink basically. And it's so yummy. Like, I just love, like, you know, I'm like more of a seltzer, hard kombucha type drink girl anyways. Like, I don't really gravitate towards beer or anything, so it's just right up my alley. It's very refreshing. It's very summer, it's very delicious. And I just forgot about it until I was at the store the other day and I saw it in there and I was like, they only sell it at, like, a very few stores here in Bend, so it's kind of a bummer. But yeah, I saw it at the store and I was like, oh, my God, I need to bring that back. So it's just been on top of mind because I drank it last night, so it's delicious. [00:28:37] Speaker A: Yum. Speaking of seltzers, I. My next one. I'm sure that this isn't new, but it's new to me. They have cranberry and lime seltzers from Trader Joe's and, like, cherry and lime, cranberry and lime, lime whatever in lime. Sounds delicious. So I bought a bunch of those, I think about, like, two boxes, and there's four cans per box. And they were really, really good. And they're very, very, like, minimal sugar. Very, very minimal flavoring or whatever. But it's really good, nice and bubbly. [00:29:12] Speaker B: They're alcoholic. [00:29:16] Speaker A: No, they're not. They're just seltzer waters. [00:29:21] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Okay. Because you. When you said low in calories, I was like, wait, low in calorie and alcoholic? What? That's crazy. Anyways, okay, the next thing is gonna be a makeup product, so I Love the drunk elephant bronzing drops and they are kind of just like a fun addition. Like they don't do a whole lot. They're not like super moisturizing or anything like that. You just need a few drops. What I do is I put my like face SPF moisturizer in my hand and then I just like drop a few drops into that and I kind of like mix it together so that you kind of just have like an overall like bronzy dewy look. I feel like it's like very millennial core to be dewy. Like, like the dewy look. But I'm still into it. I don't like the like matte look that Gen Z is doing. So anyways, yeah, I just think they're really fun for summer. They're like kind of glimmery, not, not sparkly or glittery or anything but kind of just like give you a little like plump, fresh glow. So yeah, they're kind of expensive but they obviously like you use a drop or so every time you use them so you like they don't last for a long time. But I got them at Sephora, so you know what that means. It's just like kind of stupid expensive. But I mean for bronzer, in my opinion, it's kind of expensive. I feel like they were like $28 or something like that. [00:30:47] Speaker A: Yeah, it looks, I'm looking at them online. They look great. But it is 39 for a one time purchase. But this is directly from their site. So maybe if you go to Sephora like one of their wholesale. Better wholesale prices. But yeah, I have one more like treat that I pre made for the Hood to Coast race that I want to talk about. And then I have like a bunch of songs that I've been listening to the last month. What do you have left? [00:31:19] Speaker B: Nice. Okay, go for it. I just have a band and like songs as well. [00:31:24] Speaker A: Okay. Talk about my little treat that I made yesterday is the easiest thing in the world. It's clearly not like super healthy for you, but if you have been running all day and you're looking at like how do I get something similar sweet that I can suck on or like whatever. It's literally just coconut flakes, maple syrup and coconut flour and you put, put it together and then I froze it so it's kind of like a little bar of coconut mapley deliciousness. That is so good. I think I'm gonna double the recipe and make like two or three more batches because they're delicious. I don't Know what it is? Coconut and maple. It's just like slaps so good and it's not very heavy. Like, it doesn't have a cloyingness. So it's easy to chew. And yeah, it's perfect. So coconut and me go back like I am a big coconut lady. But this in particular is pretty delicious. I'm wondering if I can make it whole 30. I'd have to, like, replace. [00:32:23] Speaker B: I love coconut too. I do not like maple as much. [00:32:26] Speaker A: I don't know. That's the last food item that I have, though. So why don't you talk a little bit about your okay music inspo as of lately, but also set the scene for me because I need to know, like, how you're. What you're doing when you're listening to these types of music. With this type of music, you know what I mean? Is it working out music? Is it camping music? [00:32:44] Speaker B: Blah, blah, blah. Well, I feel like it's kind of everything. So I went to their show. So Hayden Homes had a crazy run this week. They had 11 concerts in a row. Like, every single night. There was a concert this last week. So there was a lot of good music that was coming through. Ben, like, LCD sound system played two nights. The Lumineers played two nights. Glass Animals was last night. Trampled by turtles was Friday. Yeah, it was just like a. I can't even remember everyone else, but. Yeah, but I went and saw Rainbow Kitten Surprise. And they are just like a very interesting band. So I don't really know how to describe their music. Let me look at. I'm. I have their Spotify open right now. Let's see how Spotify describes them. It says they are weaving together lyrical poetry, hummable melodies, a rough rush of instrumental eccentricities. Yeah, I don't know. It doesn't really say what kind of music there, but anyways, they're kind of like rock and just like, really interesting. Yeah, they just like. The guy kind of raps a little bit, but he sings also. And he just like transitioned. So I'm not sure what pronoun he. He uses now. But. So, yeah, it's just like they have like a very interesting vibe on stage and everything. Their songs are just like upbeat, but then they, like, go into slow parts. And it was just like a really like. I like their music and I've listened to their music for a while, but I have always just kind of thought of it as like background music. Kind of like. Yeah, if you're camping or you're on a long road trip or like, whatever. But seeing them live just like made me love them so much more, which is why I love live music. But they were so, so good live. They were such good performers. Like, they were all so talented, like musicians and they were just like really fun and I love like they interacted with the, the audience a lot and they gave away a guitar to someone in the audience. Like they were just like so fun. So yeah, they are just like a good vibe all around. Some of their like famous songs is Devil like Me or First Class or all that and more and. But all of them are like really good. They're actually coming out with a new album soon, so it's coming out. Wait, let's see. In 39 days, 7 hours, 38 minutes and 34 seconds. So yeah, it's called Bones. But anyways, yeah, they're just like a super fun vibe. So if you're interested in new music, they're just like a good time. And yeah, they just like had such fun crowd energy as well. So good times. I love it. [00:35:25] Speaker A: Yay. Good. Most of my like music inspo comes from my running list, so a lot of it. And like I've been hanging out at the pool a lot lately, so I've been listening to a lot of rap, slash new rap and fun stuff and. I know. So Princess Nokia came out with a new song called Drop Dead Gorgeous. I've been listening to that. And then I sent you her Gemini song which is like a few years back, but I've been low key obsessed with that one because it's an absolute banger lately. Yeah, I feel like I have a few more, but why don't we go back and forth? [00:36:03] Speaker B: Oh, that's the only one that I was going to talk about right now. [00:36:07] Speaker A: Oh, shoot. Okay, never mind. Well, okay. [00:36:09] Speaker B: I want you. [00:36:10] Speaker A: There's two that I'm going to send to you after this one. That is Sampa the Great. She has a song called Female. I'm gonna send it to you because it was awesome. On my run this morning, I was like kind of okay. Just my pace was fine. And then that thing came, that song came on and I was like, cool. I think I can like maybe get a little bit faster during this song and just like feel the beat. That was really good. And then there's another one. I don't know. I'm gonna sound like such a dummy when I say this, but it's called uh huh. Yeah, by Glam and Colby. I'm gonna send it to you too. And I'll probably post it on Instagram. That way people can, like, know exactly what I'm talking about. It's very fun, female, go, kick ass, be a badass kind of vibe. And I'm into it. So, yeah, those are the songs that I've been, like, really feeling lately. [00:37:02] Speaker B: But, yeah, amazing. That is totally your vibe. I love that. Cool. Yeah, please send them to me. I always need all the girls. I just, like, love learning about new people, new bands, new songs. For sure. [00:37:19] Speaker A: She's a badass and we low key have a girl crush on her. Yes, I can. Okay, so let me start with grievance. I want to have a grievance for sure. [00:37:34] Speaker B: Get it, girl. [00:37:34] Speaker A: Do you have a grievance off the top of your head? [00:37:39] Speaker B: No, not at the moment. I think just, like, overall, you know, just adults adulting is pretty annoying, but I feel like that's. That's very average. It's very normal. So maybe we just skip gratitudes and grievances right now and we just say we love you all so much and grateful for you. [00:38:00] Speaker A: Thanks for being candid. Love you guys. That's all for today's episode. [00:38:19] Speaker B: Hope you enjoyed listening as much as we love you. [00:38:21] Speaker A: Follow us on Instagram and 30. [00:38:24] Speaker B: See you next week. Sam.
