[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:18] Speaker B: Hello and welcome to Candidly, we love you. It sounds weird to not say 30. [00:00:27] Speaker A: I know we hit the high notes so well, but rebrand. It did sound really good. Yeah, absolutely. Season four. [00:00:34] Speaker B: How's everybody doing? [00:00:36] Speaker A: This episode's actually coming up on Earth Day. Happy earth day, everybody. [00:00:40] Speaker B: 20, 26. We love. We love Earth Day. Actually. We used to celebrate it, like, every year when Kefler just, like, fun fact. When K Flor and I were roommates in college, we would literally, like, get so excited about Earth Day. I don't even know what we would do, but I just remember, like, specifically, like, for years and years just like, telling you happy Earth Day and us like, talking about it and doing something for Earth Day, right? [00:01:01] Speaker A: Yeah. It was like our secret little holiday, for sure. There was two or three times that we went to the movies because they had released, like, the live action Lion King, I think, or like the Cats, the BBC Cats documentary. And I feel like we have watched a documentary on Earth at least I have on Earth Day every day for the last, like, 15 years. So David Attenborough I always love. [00:01:26] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Wait, this is like a straight up Google search. Is David Attenborough still alive? [00:01:31] Speaker A: He gone, girl. He gone. Yeah. The Barack Obama documentary series is also really good. And then my favorite is. Shut up. [00:01:42] Speaker B: He is still alive. Motherfucker. He is 99 years old. No, he's celebrating. He will be 100 this May because we have the same birthday. He is my hero. He. He is still alive. Yeah, I was gonna say, because I remember when, like, just reading, I feel like either last year or the year before, and I was like, oh, my God, he's still alive. That's bananas. Anyways, we have the same birthday, so he's a baddie, obviously, like, May 8th. [00:02:06] Speaker A: Oh, my God. He's gonna be a hundred years old this year. [00:02:09] Speaker B: Oh, my God. That's so. Happy Earth Day, David Attenborough. Wait, can we do a little David Attenborough shout out? Can I read a little bit about him? Because it just, like, keep him up on my studio. Stupid. AI. Absolutely. I love a good bio when you Google. Okay, so. Oh, my God. There has been a lot of recent reports of his death. They were confirmed to be a hoax and he is alive and well. Attenborough continues to be a prominent figure in natural history documentaries, with BBC planning extensive centurion celebrations, including. Oh, my God. They're gonna do a birthday party for him, including special programming, a new series highlighting biodiversity and conservation. Okay, wait, let's say Just little like heads or from the beginning. Sir David Attenborough was born on May 8, 1926. What a baddie. That is crazy. Despite having previously reflected on nearing the end of his life, he remains active in broadcasting and conservation work with recent projects including Ocean with David Attenborough, Wild London and narrating the six part African series Kingdom. What a guy. We love that. Oh my gosh. I mean, he has such a, you [00:03:15] Speaker A: know, and he's definitely huge life. [00:03:17] Speaker B: So there's. Yeah, yeah, he's a sir. Anyways, just shout out to David Attenborough for still hanging in there and trying to do the Lord's work in this crazy time. Oh my God, he's so handsome when he's a little guy. When he's young in his. [00:03:35] Speaker A: Like, Loki was a looker. [00:03:37] Speaker B: Yeah, he's so cute. Wait, okay. I have like such a crush on him. I already knew that though, because when I found out we had the same birthday, I was like, obviously we're gonna save the world. Me and David Attenborough together. [00:03:48] Speaker A: Trekking around in all like Africa is a cute little local. He's so. Yeah, big crush. Love him. He's like, definitely a highlight or like one of the top five heroes of my lifetime. [00:03:59] Speaker B: Oh my God. I think so too. Yeah. Anyways, okay. Happy birthday, everybody. [00:04:04] Speaker A: Gosh, Gar. National treasure. [00:04:06] Speaker B: Yeah, just take a little peeky roo around his Wikipedia because it is quite lengthy. He has done a lot in his life. What a guy. That's very. [00:04:15] Speaker A: Or go watch like a documentary of, you know, one of his. Whatever he did. There's HBO. You can watch it on YouTube. There's tons of stuff. We love a good. I love a good David Attenborough. [00:04:26] Speaker B: Since I have this up, I kind of wanted to say a little something about Earth Day. Do you know, like the history of [00:04:30] Speaker A: Earth Day since we're not so please educate. [00:04:35] Speaker B: It says Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22, 1970, as a nationwide environmental teach in the United States of sparking a global movement for environmental protection. Earth Day emerged during a period of growing environmental awareness. In the 1960s, Americans were increasingly concerned with pollution, industrial waste and the harmful effects of pesticides. Highlighted by Rachel Carson's 1962 bestseller, Silent Spring, which we all know about. Save the eagles, whatever. Bald eagles. Anyway, major environmental disasters such as 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill. Oh yeah, that's very prominent in the river fire in Cleveland. Further underscore the urgent need for action. So there's a couple of founders, but the first one, actual spirit spent was on April 22, 1970 when 20 million Americans participated in rallies, educational events and demonstrations across the country. Very cool. Global expansion quickly Earth Day quickly became grew beyond the United States. By 1990, it was celebrated in 140 countries. And today now more than 1 billion people over 193 countries participate in Earth Day activities. Very cool. Just in case you need a little information about it. Okay, I'm done googling and I'm done with AI. Actually I have one more AI thing, but we'll get there in just a minute. How are you? How's it going? [00:05:57] Speaker A: Good. Yeah, the sun has been out, Portland's been really wonderful. Work is still kind of crazy, but you know, we're trucking through and I'm just like jazzed for spring. Like I am really ready for it to not be freezing in my house. Feel like my toes are just an ever present pro, like frost just definitely freezing all the time. So after this I'm gonna take a really warm shower. I went to hot yoga again on Saturday or Sunday and I forgot how much I love the heater in the actual like studio wasn't working. So it wasn't technically Bikram. But I just like the flow. I feel like I'm gonna get back into that. There's a core power yoga that's really close here in Tualatin. It's nice but I would love to find like a little local like area. So definitely gonna get more into yoga. But yeah, went back to yoga feeling good. I saw cousins and family and we got a lot of baby time this last weekend which is like such a good filling of my cup kind of thing because baby, they had just gotten off the plane after spending like a week at Disneyland. So they were just like a little hyped up on life. But it was kind of fun to watch them just like really run around in circles and then totally crash, so. Oh, they're always so sweet. [00:07:09] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:07:10] Speaker A: But things are good. How are you? [00:07:12] Speaker B: Good. Yeah. Similarly just like on the run. Also I've been going to yoga a lot too. Love. I'm so obsessed with yoga lately and like usually I'm like super sore. Actually this last class last night, she did a lot more of like balancing stuff, which was really cool. I do feel like a tiny bit in my shoulders. I always feel it in my shoulders when she makes us do like a ton of planks and side planks and all of that kind of crazy Venus. But the one I go to, excuse me, she's really intense but really, really great. Like it's super fast. You have to just like be with your breath. And like she says it's level two Vinyasa, so like you really got to be like up. And she does a lot of like this is. You can do this or you can move to this or you can move to this. Like she does like levels like elevation, you know, of like making them move harder or whatever. So she's really great. But you kind of have to know like what the hell she's saying because otherwise you are like lost and like gone forever kind of. So anyway it's. And yesterday's class was really fun because she hasn't done like a balancing one in a minute. So we did a lot of like plank to like you like lift your leg and like a three legged dog, you know. And then you go down into like plank and I don't know, it's just like that kind of anyways and the. Or lifting like your arm and your leg while you're in like down dog. Anyways, Crazy. But yeah, love yoga. I've been going to yoga a lot, but other than that. So last weekend was Jordy's bachelorette party. So we ended up going to Tilly Jane. And Tilly Jane is this ski hut that's up. I mean I guess it's just technically a hut, but I've only ever been to it as like a ski hut like in the winter time with snow. So you can just book it and you. It's only like a three, a little less than like a three mile hike up there from the trail head and. But it's basically just like straight up, right? You're like hiking up the side of the Mount Hood. But it's really cool. And the last time I was there we were like in a huge snowstorm. So like imagine like sideways snow like beating you down and you're like like post holing or like basically just like making trail in the snow because it was like that thick or like, you know, that deep this time. Not a lick of snow. Not a lick. [00:09:24] Speaker A: Really? [00:09:24] Speaker B: Like, I mean obviously we didn't really have a winter, but yeah, it was insane. Like the difference. We literally hiked all the way up. Like there was like one tiny little piece of of snow on the trail the entire time. There was a tiny bit of snow around the cabin and then from up from the cabin there was like a little bit of snow. It was like maybe less than a foot, but like a little bit at least. So yeah, it was just like drastically different than the last time I Was there. And a different experience completely. I mean, I can't complain. Like, I was stoked to just get to hike up there, not have to, like, drag my snowshoes all the way up that mountain. But, yeah, it was just a completely different experience. And. Yeah, but it was so lovely to hang out the girly pops and all the rats in the cabin and first backpacking trip. [00:10:11] Speaker A: The rats in the cabin. [00:10:13] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. And then, yeah, we hiked down and the next day we all met the rest of the group who, like, couldn't do that part of the trip at the Airbnb in government camp. And I never actually been to government camp. And it's so cute. Like, I mean, it's tiny, but it's so cute. And there's so many cool Airbnbs and stuff, really right around there. Our Airbnb was phenom. Like, it was humongous. It was literally like the. Have you seen Hunting Wives or whatever it's called. Did you watch that show on Netflix? [00:10:46] Speaker A: I haven't, but I've heard of it. [00:10:48] Speaker B: It was based on the, like, book by what's her name? Wait, hang on. Do you. [00:10:53] Speaker A: I don't know, but I'll look it up. [00:10:54] Speaker B: Were you tapping something? [00:10:57] Speaker A: Yes, I was tapping my phone. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Sorry. Oh, that's okay. [00:11:01] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [00:11:04] Speaker B: No, that's okay. Anyhow, so, yeah, we had this crazy Airbnb, but the house was literally like Hunting Wives meets. I don't know, just like the Real Housewives of, I don't know, Government camp. Because it was like dead animals on the walls. But, yeah, it was like cabin and whatever. But it was really cool. It was a sick house. So anyways, had a hot tub and it was great, and it was a really chill weekend, and it was lovely to celebrate Jordan and. Yeah, so just been busy, busy, busy all around, but busy, busy, good things. [00:11:39] Speaker A: And then what are you doing this next weekend? [00:11:42] Speaker B: This next weekend, we're going to Portland to pick up the rv. So the RV is there, getting a little bit of work done. Yeah. So hopefully we get to see K for a little bit. And then the weekend after that, we're going to Crystal Crane for Lex's birthday. So it's already Lex Fest, which is crazy. And it'll be so fun and good to celebrate her as well. So we're just, like, deep into summer seasonal activities, so very excited about that. But, yeah, I don't know. I feel like we've just. We did take a little bit of a break last week. We've been, like, pretty far ahead of our game. If everyone has been paying attention. We have an episode coming out every week, which is so impressive. But I know. I feel like I'm talking a lot, [00:12:27] Speaker A: so sorry, we forgot to do, like, the entry whatever sentence, so I'm not going to be too worried about it. But this is Kay Flair. [00:12:35] Speaker B: This is Kelly. Hi, everybody. [00:12:38] Speaker A: There we go. [00:12:38] Speaker B: You couldn't tell because I was just yapping. [00:12:41] Speaker A: This is still a candid, like, podcast because we're going to be. Yeah. So not much has changed, but we have been pretty good about being every week. And then Vince texted me or sent me a message on Instagram this last week and was like, I really enjoyed the Anora Nayakon. So we'll do more of that. And yeah, I hope that people just give us a little bit of a break for being candid, because we're still candid. [00:13:02] Speaker B: Yeah, I did get a little feedback on that episode as well, and they said that maybe we, like, come in and just, like, yap a little bit before we go into, like, a serious topic. Because sometimes, yeah, like, it's. It's cool information, but just, like, sometimes I. The person told me, which is very sweet, that they just turn on our podcast to, like, hear us yap and, like, hear a friendly. Hear friendly voice. So maybe. [00:13:28] Speaker A: Which is shocking. I can't believe people want to, like, listen to us. Just shoot the. But I love it. That's great. [00:13:33] Speaker B: Yeah, very sweet. So, yeah, we'll definitely take that feedback and just, like, revamp our. [00:13:39] Speaker A: And I told her. [00:13:40] Speaker B: I was like, that was totally my idea because Keith had the idea of just, like, yapping and then doing the episode, and I was like, oh, I think it'd be, like, so impactful if we just, like, went straight into it. And she was like, okay, don't do that. [00:13:50] Speaker A: Started, like, a little dramatic. Fair enough. The dramatization. No, no time for that. Fair enough. [00:13:57] Speaker B: Anyways, no, she didn't say that, but, yeah. So very excited about that. That segment and glad that it worked out. I mean, I listened to it today. Was that today or yesterday? I don't know. I've been listening to a lot of podcasts at work because I'm really far behind on podcasts. What the actual heck? But, yeah, I was listening to it and it. [00:14:13] Speaker A: Well, you've been busy. [00:14:14] Speaker B: Pretty cute. Wait, speaking of, I've been on the socials a lot, and I do want to talk a little bit about Coachella. Did you. [00:14:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:23] Speaker B: Pay attention to it? Did you. Were you excited about anyone? [00:14:28] Speaker A: I only saw the stuff that you sent me and I. There was like a few things from on Tick Tock about Justin Bieber because apparently he like, brought down the house. But no, I didn't really pay too much attention. Nor do I. I think the only person that I know that actually performed with Sabrina Carpenter. [00:14:43] Speaker B: Okay. I didn't even know she played until I'm looking at this list right now. Totally space that situation. [00:14:48] Speaker A: Who are you? I mean, obviously Justin Bieb, because you [00:14:51] Speaker B: sent me a bunch of stuff, which [00:14:52] Speaker A: is cute, but, like, who else were you paying attention to? [00:14:56] Speaker B: Well, I guess I like more so was paying attention to like the influencer. So there was like tons of people this year that were like, not stoked that it's just like influencers that go to it basically. And so it's just like. [00:15:08] Speaker A: Because they're the only people who can afford a ticket. [00:15:11] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. So they sell a bunch of like, just like kind of like backlash videos this time of people being like, I'm a non influencer going to Coachella, or like, I'm a regular person going to Coachella. This is what I'm wearing. And it was just like a normal outfit. Or like there would be like someone who's like, camping. Because I didn't even know they had camping. Honestly, I thought that everyone stayed in hotels. That's why, like, so that was the [00:15:32] Speaker A: whole point that people brought their, like, yurts and their, like, travel tents. Then, you know, like, all the fancy people had a big old tent that was set up for them, like a mansion. It's not really like camping, but not camp. [00:15:44] Speaker B: I thought, well, Ollie, influencers, like, get a car and a driver and stay at a hotel or an Airbnb nearby or whatever, apparently. But there's like people just like in the camping area and just being like, look, I'm a normal person and I'm camping, like, whatever. And so I saw like a ton of videos about that. So I just thought that was so funny, like the shade on influencers to like be like, oh, look at, I got invited to like, go to Coachella, like, blah, blah, blah, and like trying to like, whatever, talk about it in that way. So, yeah, definitely, now that I'm seeing that Sabrina Carpenter closed on Friday, Justin Bieber closed on Saturday, and then Carol G closed on Sunday. Who is that? Do you know who that is? She's a Latina artist. Yeah, I don't know. Anyway, there's like tons of notable performers though. Like, so random. I feel like these are all like throwbacks, like the xx, remember the XX Foster the people That's a throwback. Jack White is a throwback. Let's see, who else. Blood Orange is green. I've heard, like, so many people talk about different people that I, like, forgot about on their, like, socials or whatever, but there was like, hold on, who? Oh, Nine Inch. Oh, Nine Inch Noise. Not Nine Inch Nails. Disclosure. That's like, definitely a throwback. Yeah. Wouldn't they be fun? Oh, man, I was listening to this girl's video today and I was like, oh, my God, I would love to see both of those people, but I can't remember what their name. Oh, Major Laser. Remember that from college? [00:17:16] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Oh, yes. This is a little bit more of a nostalgic podcast because we're, like, talking about Earth Day and then David Attenborough and now all these, like, like, I don't know, 2007, 2008, 2009, for sure. [00:17:31] Speaker B: Totally. Anyways, a lot of hyped about Coachella [00:17:35] Speaker A: or is it kind of losing a little bit of its luster these days? [00:17:39] Speaker B: I mean, I. You could not pay me to go there. Honestly, like, that's so many people. That would freak me out. I don't know. But I don't know, maybe people are still going to it. Like, again, how do you afford it, even? I don't even get that. [00:17:53] Speaker A: Also, what does the ticket cost? [00:17:55] Speaker B: I don't have a question. I actually have no idea either. Oh, Royal Otis. That's another person that I really wanted to see. That would have been a good one. [00:18:02] Speaker A: Anyhow, like, all of these people aren't, like, even collectively. I don't know if I would spend a bunch of money to. To go see them. Like, they just seem a little haphazard. There's no, like, cohesive true theme or anything. [00:18:15] Speaker B: And also, not to mention the fact that, like, if you were to go try to go see Justin Bieber, like, how close would you actually get? Like, you wouldn't get close at all. You know what I mean? There'd be so many. I mean, I'm sure. What is it, like 30,000 people? [00:18:28] Speaker A: Yeah, I think it's 30. It says, well, general emissions is 559 or 49 for. I'm guessing one day. And then it doesn't say there has to be like, 30 to 40,000 people that go. I will look that up. Anyway. Yeah, I don't think that I would pay money to be camping. Is it, like, really hot in Palm Springs too? So. [00:18:51] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Yeah, by this point for sure. Let's see. 250,000 people. [00:19:00] Speaker A: Oh, I'm sorry, 250,000 people. [00:19:03] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:04] Speaker A: No, you. [00:19:05] Speaker B: There's no 125 people a weekend. 250,000 between both weekends. Wait, when is the next. Is there another weekend? We. I feel like I'm so out of the. [00:19:17] Speaker A: There we are. Real time. Looking it up, getting. [00:19:19] Speaker B: Okay. Coachella takes place over two weekends. Oh, my God. 10th through 12th and the April 17th through 19th. Are they the same bands? Both feature identical lineup stages and set lists. Okay, that makes sense. [00:19:32] Speaker A: Oh, okay. So they don't have, like, a cooler act. Fair enough. [00:19:35] Speaker B: Interesting. [00:19:37] Speaker A: Wow. [00:19:37] Speaker B: Okay. Anyways, let us know if you care or if you don't care at all. That's great, too. I'm. [00:19:42] Speaker A: Thanks for going and tell us how bad it is. Oh, my God. [00:19:45] Speaker B: Yeah. If you can afford to go. We need to be friends more than we are right now. [00:19:51] Speaker A: Yeah. I'm just kidding. [00:19:54] Speaker B: Anyways, I just saw that because it kept. Keeps popping up on my stuff, on everything, on the algorithm, on whatever. But I really have been so bad about, like, Tick Tock. I know you guys had, like, deep belief in me that I could get my Tick Tock going. I just, like, cannot be bothered to post. Like, I am struggling. Yeah. Because it's just, like, I don't have any time. Like, if that was all that I was doing, I would love it, but that is not the case. [00:20:19] Speaker A: So just posting on TikTok all day, every day [00:20:23] Speaker B: anyhow, I could. [00:20:24] Speaker A: I don't know. I. Speaking of Tick Tock, because I have been on it a little bit more frequently lately. Have you seen this, like, Mother's Day card that Donald Trump and people are putting out? You, like, basically open up the card and it's Donald Trump's voice being like, happy Mother's Day. Mothers are the best. Blah, blah, blah. It's the most disgusting thing. Yeah, it's. I'm sure that you'll find it on TikTok if you look at it tonight. [00:20:53] Speaker B: Okay. [00:20:53] Speaker A: But, yeah, it's like a legit Mother's Day card that they're selling for, like, $35. 35 for a card? [00:21:01] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:21:02] Speaker A: Like, the amount of scamming that this guy is doing, he has no freaking shame. [00:21:07] Speaker B: Wait, it's not a joke. [00:21:08] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Anyway. No, it's like a real thing. You can buy a Mother's Day card. [00:21:13] Speaker B: Oh, no. Yeah, I know. Okay. Anyway, I haven't seen that. [00:21:19] Speaker A: Are you doing anything for Mother's Day? Are you guys gonna, like, get together? [00:21:25] Speaker B: No, it's my birthday. I believe. [00:21:28] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:29] Speaker B: Aren't you gonna Be here. [00:21:31] Speaker A: I'll be there. [00:21:32] Speaker B: You're coming here, right? [00:21:35] Speaker A: Yeah, I have to, like, put a card because my dad's birthday is the end of April and then Mother's Day, so I got, like, a couple of cards to get into the mail. But, yes, I will be in Bend for your birthday. [00:21:44] Speaker B: Nice. Yeah. Good question, though. I haven't, like. Yeah, I haven't planned anything too far ahead. Also, the producer of this podcast cannot know what I'm planning. Keefler, obviously. [00:21:55] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. My bad. Shout out to our producer. [00:22:00] Speaker B: Shout out to the producer. [00:22:01] Speaker A: Okay, never mind. Okay, we gotta, like, get to the topic of the day. Do you want to tell the people what we're doing? [00:22:06] Speaker B: Okay, we're gonna do Facebook. Yeah, so sorry. We're gonna do faves today because we're gonna do, like, a whole Earth Day episode. And you know your girls. Yeah. What? There's nothing to do, like, besides what's already been done. We're not David Attenborough. We're not gonna talk about animals. So here we go. We're gonna do faves today because it's been a minute and we. I have, like, a list of, like, just, like, kind of old ones that I haven't talked about yet, but I'll try to think of a new one. I have, like, one new one off the top of my head that I do want to talk about. But anyways, do you have your list going, or do you want me to go for it? [00:22:41] Speaker A: Okay, you go first, because mine's gonna be very off the cuff. I did not come prepared, but okay, we'll wing it. [00:22:47] Speaker B: It'll be great. Okay. So my first one is that. Well, I guess just, like, a little backstory. I have been trying to get me and Mateo to eat just, like, a little bit cleaner. Not in, like. I feel like everyone always, like, strives to eat healthier, but just, like, not have, like, a bunch of chemicals in our food and, like, weird additives and things like that. And so we. I have found, like, these weird, like, alternative. So we both, like, really like gummy candy. We actually both really like candy in general. But I found this new candy called. And candy. Have you heard of joyride candy? [00:23:24] Speaker A: No. What is this? [00:23:25] Speaker B: So we've had. [00:23:26] Speaker A: Shocked and appalled. I haven't heard of this. [00:23:29] Speaker B: It just has, like, really. Yeah, like I said, it's just really clean ingredients. It's strips. There's, like, these really yummy, like, blue raspberry strips that we've had. And then we've also had the, like, Little sour gummy strawberry gummies. They're both delicious. They're not like. You have tried them. You don't like them? Oh yeah, for sure. [00:23:46] Speaker A: No, no, I think I've definitely done the blue, the raspberry and then the cherry ropes and I saw like the like the brand of it and then it like immediately clicked in my brain. I got the. You get these from Target? I got them from Target, yeah. [00:23:59] Speaker B: I think anywhere now I get, I get them at Safeway now, but I was only finding them at like Whole Foods and stuff before. But yeah, now they're pretty much selling them wherever. But yeah, they're just like cleaner ingredients. If you're gonna put that kind of candy in your food, you know you don' Want red dye number whatever and whatever. So yeah, we've been a fan of them lately and it's just like nice to try different like new candies because there is like all those like, I don't know if you ever saw the like smart sweets that came out first where it was like, I guess they're like more sugar free candy kind of situation. And those taste terrible. They're just like so gross. And that's like instant diarrhea. [00:24:37] Speaker A: Have candy. The sugar free candy just like doesn't compute in my brain, but I know I don't know. [00:24:43] Speaker B: So anyways, these are just like a better alternative but still don't taste like shit and give you diarrhea. So my first one. [00:24:52] Speaker A: Okay, I love it. Speaking of candy, I've been treating myself a little bit like my favorite candy of all times. Do you want to give a guess? I feel like you could probably get it. [00:25:03] Speaker B: Oh, the, the Jawbreak. Not jawbreakers. What are they? The like sour. [00:25:09] Speaker A: They're like sweethearts. [00:25:11] Speaker B: Sweethearts, that's what they're called? [00:25:12] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, for sure. I eat those on every road trip. I have them at least once or twice. No, I don't want to like throw myself under the bus. I have them a normal amount of time. Okay. But yeah, they're definitely my favorite candy. So I'm going to say, and I know they're like kind of smarty esque, but they're not smarties. [00:25:29] Speaker B: They're way better. [00:25:31] Speaker A: Plus that particular brand, it's sweethearts. They also have a rope thing. I bet the one that you're talking about, joyride is like probably way less toxic. But the sweetheart ropes are also really good. [00:25:42] Speaker B: Wait, speaking of tick tock and candy, I saw this girl post about how, because you know how like I don't know if you have gone into them too. But like, nerd clusters. How everyone's gone into like, clusters in the last year. Well, apparently if you eat like 79 pieces of like actual just like tiny nerds, that's like enough arsenic in, like, it's like your daily a lot or your yearly allotment of like arsenic or something insane like that. Like, it was like, it's so bad for you. So, like, don't eat nerds. I know. So just beware. I'll have to, like, find the video if I didn't send it to you. [00:26:17] Speaker A: But yeah, send it to me on Tik Tok. That's insane to me. But yeah, that of course I'm going to eat like a whole bag of gummy nerd clusters. I haven't had them in such a long time. But I was thinking about going to get yogurt tonight. Like, frozen yogurt's kind of close by and they have a bunch of those nerd. Like just freestanding nerds. But yeah, like poison myself with arsenic. [00:26:39] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:26:39] Speaker A: Trace amounts of arsenic. [00:26:41] Speaker B: Adam Froyo sounds really good right now. Wow. Okay, well, right. [00:26:46] Speaker A: This is a super nostalgic episode. You got College Earth, David Attenborough, nerds and Froyo. [00:26:54] Speaker B: Literally. [00:26:55] Speaker A: It's great yoga. [00:26:56] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:26:57] Speaker A: We'll be back at 23. [00:26:58] Speaker B: The other thing that Matt and I are obsessed with lately and is kind of along the same vein is have you ever heard of Fruit Riot? I might have talked about this on the pod before. I know I definitely made a tick tock video about familiar, but basically they've come out with like a bunch of different things now. But they started off with like sour grapes. And there's like three different flavors in the pack. There is mixed berry, lemon, lime, and green apple. So basically it's just a frozen grape which just in themselves are like delicious. But they like coat them, I know, with like this sour stuff. It's basically just like citric acid and like this kind of like sugary sweeter. But they're delicious. It's a great little sweet treat. And they're not too bad for you. It's not like eating a bowl of ice cream or something, but it kind of like scratches the itch, you know, still kind of healthy because you're eating fruit and whatever. But I'm obsessed with them. And then we just tried the other day, they had like strawberry something covered mangoes. And those were really good too. [00:27:53] Speaker A: Like freeze dried strawberries covering a mango? [00:27:57] Speaker B: No, it's more like a coating, but. Oh, still delicious. Yeah, yeah, it sounds pretty good. [00:28:03] Speaker A: Not gonna lie. [00:28:06] Speaker B: Yeah, so definitely highly recommend. We've tried the. Just the regular grapes and then the sour grapes and the sour mangoes. We haven't tried the, like, chili lime ones or whatever. But, yeah, highly recommend mango. [00:28:20] Speaker A: Yeah. So that reminds me of the fruit leathers because the solely. [00:28:25] Speaker B: Oh, my God, I love those too. That's on my list. I just bought them. That's so funny. [00:28:30] Speaker A: Oh, shoot. [00:28:31] Speaker B: From Costco. No, no, no. Yeah, that's okay. [00:28:33] Speaker A: But they have a chili covered and it's not like a solid mango, obviously, but it's like. Oh, I think it's pineapple. So they like cut up the pineapple and then they like. Obviously it's a fruit leather, and then they put a bunch of chili powder over it. Oh, my God. Chef's kiss. And then like a couple of days ago I tried a raspberry. They came out with a new. They have like a blueberry. They have a raspberry. They have strawberries. They're like coming out with a whole bunch of new flavors. And like coconut. There was a coconut mango maybe that I had a while ago. I don't know. Yeah, those are all very good. And they're all whole 32 because they don't have any sugar in them. [00:29:08] Speaker B: Yeah, they're just straight fruit. Yeah, those are so good. Sam actually bought those for us for backpacking the JMT last summer, and so I found out them about them last summer, but they just started stocking them at our Costco and I love them. Also, shout out to Costco just in general, because I was at Natalie and Kyle's the other night and Wesley was giving me strawberries. They're like his favorite thing apparently. But they have these freeze dried strawberries that have, like, no added sugar on them. Not freeze dried. I guess they're just dried strawberries because they're like. No, they're not crunchy. They're just like soft and squishy. Like, but they're actually so sweet and like. Oh, my God, they're so freaking good. But I don't even know how. [00:29:47] Speaker A: Wait, is it a fresh strawberry or is it like it's dried? [00:29:51] Speaker B: A package, but okay, it's like a, you know, like how. Not like freeze dried strawberry. It would be like just a dried strawberry. Yeah, I don't know how to describe it. It's kind of like eating a mango or something, but a little bit more juicier. [00:30:06] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:30:08] Speaker B: Yeah, they're delicious. Okay, highly recommend. But I don't know. The brand or anything, so I can't help you there. But. Okay, the next thing on my list is going to be a clothing item. So I have these new pants and I'm sorry, this is not very helpful but I. We're not ordering from Amazon, remember? So this is from Bequeathing Clothing. She is a girl that's on Instagram. So it's not like quite as. Not the worst, but not the best anyways. But these pants are called like wide leg Tencel drawstring pants and they're like, they look like they're jeans but they're like really loose fitting and they, they're like a different material. So like a really soft. They're not stretchy but they're like really soft. Just like loose, flowy, kind of like springy summery pants that I'm like obsessed with right now. And they're like high waisted and they just like go with everything and yeah, I just really love the material. They're not like super warm or anything. So they're definitely like a spring, summer situation. But yeah, I'm obsessed with them and they're so comfy and I just like. I don't know what it is, but I cannot be bothered with like tight clothes. Excuse me, I just burped. Right now everything has to be like loose and chill and just like, I don't know, especially to work because I have to wear them for like a hundred million years. [00:31:28] Speaker A: So can you wear them to work though? They look very cozy. Like very. And flattering too if you get like the right cut and stuff. I could totally see that being like comfortable and not like overly thick, you know, that's the worst. You don't want to like sweat in your. Behind your knees or whatever. It's kind of. Yes, 100, but very much a real thing. Yeah. Yeah. I love this. Cool. I know I haven't really purchased like a new item of clothing in. I can't even tell you in the last time I bought so. Because we just got new clothes from your mom which I just washed it all and like it's all. I. I wore one of the. I wore the navy like blouse the other day to work and it worked out really good. So. Thank you, Renee. It was really pretty. But yeah, no, I haven't bought anything new but I am going to like take out all of my clothing for summer and spring from like the closet that's been packed away since like Halloween. I'm doing that this weekend so I'm kind of hoping it'll feel a little Bit like I'm shopping or I have new clothes, so I don't have. I don't have a fate for my clothes. So what's your next one? Let's move. [00:32:31] Speaker B: Just a refresh. The other. The last thing that I kind of wanted to Talk about was K18 dry shampoo. Have you tried this or anything from K18 yet there? It is expensive, but I definitely feel like it's worth it. It is the best dry shampoo I feel like I've ever used, which is saying a lot. But also, to be fair, I, like, don't spend a lot of money on dry shampoo. I'm such, like, a cheapo when it comes to that. I, like, buy it at, like, TJ Maxx or Target or whatever. Just like, whatever brands they have available. So I never, like, go for, like, the good stuff. Like, I've never bought, like, Living Proof or I've never bought, like. Like a big pack of, like, the Omi or whatever that stupid brand. Is that, like, black. Anyways, it's like a black bottle. All the, like, ones that are, like, really trendy. [00:33:15] Speaker A: Yeah. The white bottle with the green on it. It's. I don't know what it's called. [00:33:19] Speaker B: That's a really good one. That's like, love your mother or whatever. [00:33:23] Speaker A: Yeah, that one. Something like not your mother's. Something like not your mother's. [00:33:26] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:33:27] Speaker A: I've had that for years. [00:33:29] Speaker B: Anyway, that's, like, nice. Just. That's the kind that I would, like, buy. That's like $10. The kind I'm talking about is, like, $50 for a dry shampoo. [00:33:40] Speaker A: Ah, okay. This is, like, way, but way better. [00:33:42] Speaker B: Okay. I found it on Tick Tock Shop and it was only, like, $28, so I'm gonna call it a win because it was, like, 50 off, but I just. Yeah, I really wanted to try it. And everyone talks about it and how great it is, and it is as good as they say it is, unfortunately. So. Yeah, here we go. [00:33:59] Speaker A: Unfortunately. [00:34:00] Speaker B: No, it's great. But I don't want to spend that much money on fucking dry shampoo. Are you kidding? [00:34:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I've been watching this thing on TikTok where people are doing, like, pad tests. They're, like, trying because we talked about this. Not that maybe like a year ago, like, using all of your material or, like, all your beauty products before going out and buying more. I haven't checked. Like, I haven't bought. That's not true. I bought, like, face stuff and I bought new makeup not that long ago. But I haven't. I need to check in to see, like, how well I'm doing on my reserves. Have you looked at, like, your progress in the last couple of weeks? [00:34:36] Speaker B: Yeah, definitely. I am doing good and making my way through. So I. I won, like, that whole skincare line, like, last. Oh, my God. That was, like, over a year ago, but I finally got through all of that. And so I've been using, like, solely my. Like, I had used, like, some products from it, and then I was still using, like, some of the serums and things like that, but I finally finished all of those. So now I'm just using my, like, og, like, herbal face food. Only that all the time. I do have, like, one more face wash in the shower that I, like. I'm still trying to get through. But anyways, other than that. Yeah, I'm, like, just using my skincare now and I, like, love it and I'm glad. I'm just, like, on a routine and, yeah, the face is feeling pretty good. [00:35:15] Speaker A: Nice. [00:35:16] Speaker B: So, yeah, how are you doing on your progress, your journey? [00:35:19] Speaker A: I feel pretty good. [00:35:20] Speaker B: I. [00:35:21] Speaker A: So I just bought this thing. Maybe I'll talk a little bit about it, but I'm a little embarrassed. But I bought hard wax. So, like, the beads that you can get and then you melt them in the microwave or whatever. And I just, like, did, like, the whole shebang. Not everything, but yeah, all of the little bits and pieces because I just got sick of shaving. I want to get in the habit of doing hard wax so that my hair comes back and the summer, like, a little bit thinner. So I'm just trying to, like, keep on top of that rather than just shaving endlessly. And I'm really enjoying it. So I feel like I don't have to spend a hundred bucks or whatever to just go and get, like, my bikini or my Brazil. Like, I'm not gonna do that with. I'm not gonna do Brazilian by myself. That's just, like, suicide. But, yeah, I can basically do, like, a bikini wax myself, which for, like, 20 bucks, you just buy it at, like, Walmart or whatever. I think even Costco has, like, some options for their hard wax material. But, yeah, it's working out really good. It. So I think I'm just, like, leaning into my hard wax era and just maybe ditch my razor once and for all. If I could figure that out. [00:36:19] Speaker B: What a champ. What a champ you are. [00:36:21] Speaker A: I know. [00:36:21] Speaker B: It's incredible. I can't pull it all. No, I mean, I've done the, like, strips before. Like, what are they, like, Nair strips maybe or something? And I can do them on my. Yeah, I've done it on my armpits a lot. But then once it gets, like, really fine, once you've been doing it for a while, then, yeah, it doesn't work anymore. [00:36:40] Speaker A: So, yeah, I'm getting better at it. I don't. I guess I just don't mind it. Maybe I've just been stunted emotionally so long that I can't feel any pain on my body anymore, so it's totally possible. Okay, well, that emotion on you guys. But anyway, what's the next one on your list? [00:37:01] Speaker B: That was kind of all the ones that I, like, wanted to talk about. I do have, like, a grievance that I also want to talk about. So do you want to move into Gratitudes and Grievances? [00:37:10] Speaker A: Yeah, I just want to, like, mention, because I've been on Tick Tock a lot lately, and maybe I need to, like, take a break from socials, but there's this guy, his name is Kane Bike. It's B U I K. He is so cute. He starts all of his episodes or, like, little posts as hey, honey. And I just didn't realize in my life how much I miss people saying, like, cutesy names or, like, calling me cutesy names. Like, it's very professional here. My husband's not a very affectionate, like, nicknaming kind of person, but my mom always called me a nickname. I feel like Kefler has been a big part of my personality for a long time. So, like, that term of endearment has been really great. And he's so cute. Yeah, I really enjoy his stuff on socials, but that's my last like or fave. So we can move on to Gratitudes and Grievances. Hit me with your grievance, girl. [00:37:56] Speaker B: Nice. My grievance is that. Yeah. Also, we should shout out more of our Tick Tock creators that we, like, because I like a lot of people on there and they do great things anyways, so, yeah, my grievance is just that. So I ordered something just with all the, like, moving situation. Mateo and I are. I. I hope you guys all know his name is Matthew, but I just call him Mateo because it's the term of endearment. [00:38:20] Speaker A: It's adorable. [00:38:22] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm not gonna call him whatever. I actually call him Never mind. Any hoosers? So we've been, like, moving and trying to get our house, like, settled and figured out and, like, kind of make it a little bit more like us instead of like, his house and whatever. So we've been ordering a lot of, like, furniture, and we, like, ordered a new bed, which. Oh, that is just, like. That'll be my gratitude is that we ordered a new bed, which is very exciting. But we, like. We're ordering furniture for the bedroom, and so we ordered this new, like, I don't know. It's not a vanity. I don't know what it is. It's kind of like. [00:38:59] Speaker A: It's. [00:39:00] Speaker B: It's just a shelf thing. It's not like a dresser or anything. I don't know how to describe it. It's kind of just like walking into our bedroom, like, below the tv type of where all the stuff, like, collects, you know? Anyway, so we bought this thing off of Wayfair. First of all, Wayfair sucks balls. [00:39:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:39:16] Speaker B: Also such a grievance in itself of just, like. You have to, like. You can filter by, like, real wood things, fake wood, like, the colors, like, all the things you're looking for. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Right, great. But, like, real wood. I, like, was filtering by real wood. Real world wood. Anything is, like, over a thousand dollars for any I know you buy. That's insane. Anyway, so obviously, we bought the fake thing, and obviously it didn't work out, so put this whole thing. Well, not even me. Mateo put this whole thing together last week, and it doesn't even. Like, the doors don't even, like, come together. They're, like, overlapping. Or if you, like, put them, whatever, they just, like, hang down. And it's so atrocious. It's, like, so bad. So anyways, I, like, message them. And I was like, hey, like, the doors don't even hang right. Like, they're not. They're not even touching. Whatever. And so they're like, oh, let us send you replacement doors. And I was like, no. Like, you're gonna send me the same of the. That I already have. Like, no, I do not. I want. Like, I want to return it or whatever. And they're like, well, you could keep it, and we could refund you 20. These are the options. Send you replacement parts. You could keep it and we'll return. Or, yeah, give you 20 back. Or. What was the third option? It was also very bad. I don't even remember. And I was like, no, that is crazy. Oh, it was. Return the whole thing and then get a whole full, like, replacement. And I was like, I don't want another one of these. Obviously, it's a hunk of junk. You're gonna send me another hunk of junk. That probably someone else probably sent back to you because it's a hunk of junk. Like, I don't want this product. [00:40:52] Speaker A: So their return policy was like, you can't return it. You can just have those, like, different options. [00:40:59] Speaker B: Yep. So what after that was all the options that, like, it was giving me. Right. So then after I, like, chatted and called someone. So after all this, I, like, had to go through and chat and call someone multiple times to find someone that would actually help me. And so then they let me return it. Okay. So now I'm. I have this fully put together thing that came in a tiny little box and I have to fit this full, huge thing back in something to return it to them because they have to. You have to return the entire thing in order for them to give you a refund. So then we're taking apart this whole thing again. And because it was such a hunk of junk, Matt put all these, like, extra, like, screws in it and like a little bit of wood on glue on it and all these things. So now it's like, not coming apart. And so I. Yeah, it's just like. I mean, that's what he's doing right now downstairs is trying to take that thing apart because we have to. The only nice thing I will say is that they said, like, oh, just. Of course they're like, just put in the original packaging. It doesn't fit in the original packaging, but whatever. But they sent us like a shipping label. And so all you have to do is put it on our porch with a shipping label on it and they come pick it up and everything so we don't have to do anything else with it. But I'm just like, what the heck kind of customer service is that? Like, also, I'm never buying anything from Wayfair ever again because I want, like, a real return policy. Like, like at least Amazon and whatever. You just like, drop it off at Whole Foods and say, forget it, you know, and like, you don't have to deal with it again, like, this is crazy. So I'm just irritated. And that's a lot of work. And it was a lot of work to put it together for it to not work. And it's a lot of work to take it apart and not get whatever what we wanted out of it. I'm just frustrated. That's a lot of time and energy for nothing, basically. So Wayfair, don't love them, hate them. [00:42:40] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't think I've had a lot of good experiences with Wayfair. Granted, it's been, like, a good two years since I've purchased anything from them, but I just remember, like, they have endless amount of options. A lot of their options are, like, cheaply built and, like, subpar material. And then when I bought my bathroom vanity, they charged me, like, a restocking fee, which I understand the premise of it, but I'm still mad about it. I'm just mad. [00:43:07] Speaker B: Wait, a reason? [00:43:10] Speaker A: Yeah. So we had the vanity delivered, and then, like, the coloring was not as it was displayed on. Like, you know, it's a little hard to see that when you're on online. And so I was like, well, we want to return it. And they were like, well, we'll take it, but we have a restocking fee of, like, 200 or something like that. So that was, like, over two and a half. [00:43:31] Speaker B: Crazy period. [00:43:32] Speaker A: But, yeah. So big furniture, like, that's a bunch of. [00:43:36] Speaker B: And you're right. [00:43:37] Speaker A: Like, nothing is built with real wood anymore. It's always, like, a veneer or something. I know. It's terrible. [00:43:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:47] Speaker A: Anyway, my grievance is just, like, what's going on in the world? [00:43:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:52] Speaker A: I spent a lot of time on Tick Tock, like, the last 24 hours, and there were some good things that came out. Like, Mondani is doing some interesting stuff with the jails in New York, and, like, there's some good momentum happening outside of Michigan in terms of elections. Hungary came out and booted that butthead. So that's hopefully a good indication that the world in and out of itself is not falling prey to some of these assholes. But my grievance is just the shenanigans of the world and how it's hard to just, like, be overwhelmed with it. So we're not going to talk about it here because this is not that type of podcast. But that is my grievance of the moment, and we can shift on to gratitudes. Tell me what you're grateful for. [00:44:39] Speaker B: Yeah, very grateful that we ended up ordering a bed, I guess. Grateful. [00:44:44] Speaker A: Did you guys, like, upgrade your bed or. [00:44:47] Speaker B: Yeah, like, times 1,000, times 10. [00:44:49] Speaker A: Oh, my God, yes. [00:44:50] Speaker B: Yeah, we're getting a king. We haven't slept on a king ever yet before, so here we go. You're gonna love it. I know. I'm so ready. And we got a fancy bed. We ended up getting a tempur pedic because we, like, went and laid on a bunch of beds, and we just have very different gauges of, like, hardness. And so, yeah, his bed is a little too soft for me. And my bed is a little too hard for him. So we decided to get our own or like gauges. I don't know what the word is for that, but perfect. Yeah. So we did spend mulo, mula, mula, mula, mula, buco, bucks, whatever the word is. I'm very excited for that. So. But more so than that, just like, grateful to have girls weekend last weekend and get to celebrate our girl Jordan. Shout out to her. Very. Yeah, Just very excited for her and Connor and can't wait to go. Yay. [00:45:48] Speaker A: Shout out to Georgia. [00:45:49] Speaker B: Yeah. And it was so good, like, hanging out with all her girls. So very excited about that. And yeah, just like onward and upward with the weekend. Shenan's, you know, Here we go. Let's be grateful for right now. [00:46:01] Speaker A: Love it. [00:46:02] Speaker B: Yeah. What's he. What are you grateful for? [00:46:04] Speaker A: Love it. Well, I'm grateful for you. I know that we've been doing. This is like officially our third or fourth week of every week doing a report. So I appreciate it. I think it's going well. I am grateful for all my friends and family who've been reaching out to me lately in the last, I'd say four or five months, just because life is crazy and it just feels like it's never getting any better. But, you know, I've been spending a lot more time trying to find gratitude in those little, like, moments like going for a walk or taking myself for a cup of coffee or, you know, having conversations when it is tough at work and knowing that, like, it's not the end all be all. I'm just, like, stuck in this moment in my life and when I'm done with it, I'm done with it. I'm just trying to find a little gratitude for, like, the sunshine and the weather and the upcoming summer season and strawberry and all my friends. So I had a really good weekend last weekend with, like, babies and family and that was just really good to, like, get some decent hugs and feel that warmth. So I'm just really appreciative of, of people in humanity. And I know that, like, TikTok is bad. Like, there's definitely science out there that is detrimental amount of brain rot that happens if you spend too much time on Tick tock. But it's been helping me with, like, people talking about their experiences and it's refreshing. So I just want to, like, be a little bit grateful for the people, the content creators who are just so vulnerable. But it's good. I think I'm at that point where I need to find a balance with my TikTok because it is becoming a little disruptive, I would say. But at the end of the day, it's been helpful in, like, those really dark moments where I'm like, I'm not the only one. Okay, great. [00:47:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:47:55] Speaker A: Find gratitude and start to anchor myself again. But, yeah, so a little bit more grateful these days. Try not to do doom scroll 100. You know, the world is on fire. [00:48:04] Speaker B: It literally ends. Anyway, that's all from us. We are grateful for all of you and we love you all so much. Thanks. [00:48:13] Speaker A: Thanks for being candid. [00:48:15] Speaker B: Bye. [00:48:17] Speaker A: Peace.
