[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:18] Speaker B: Welcome, welcome. [00:00:23] Speaker A: Welcome, everybody. [00:00:24] Speaker B: Hi, everybody. How's it going? Here we are. Yeah. Happy Tuesday. This is Kay Flair. This is Kelly. Coming at you from, you know, just our bedrooms, sort of cave's. Half bedroom, half office, my bedroom. [00:00:43] Speaker A: We're doing a really decent job of like, trying to still work with like, the virtual. And I think we're getting through it, you know, even though I know like a few episodes ago we were like, well, it's really difficult, it deters us from doing it. But I feel like we've bucked up and we're. We're gonna get the solution solved or, like get the problem solved. So just proud of us. I want to, like, throw that out there at the beginning of the pod. [00:01:06] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I mean, we still have a delay if you cannot tell, but we're trying our hardest. So we're here, we're out here. [00:01:17] Speaker A: Are you one of the people that subscribes to, like, the end of summer being end of June, July, August, or are you like, no, we still have three or four months left of summer. Like, what's your take? [00:01:29] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. No, I feel like the end of August, I'm like, wow, summer is over. Even though it's nice through September. But like, living in Oregon, you just gotta learn that you never know what's gonna happen after August. Like, honestly, it could go straight into winter. We never know what's gonna happen. But yeah, I just subscribe to the fact that, like, I'm sad that, like, all the events are over. You know what I mean? [00:01:54] Speaker A: Straight up snowstorm, September 2nd. [00:01:56] Speaker B: Yeah. But I feel like I'm still in the mode of, like, happy that it's almost August and there's a lot to look forward to still. And like, there's so many activities to do this year still. And I, like, haven't even like caught a breath or a break yet. So I'm just. Yeah, I'm just trying to keep looking forward because everything seems really overwhelming. What about you? [00:02:20] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm moving forward. I've like, checked off a lot of projects that I wanted to do before we leave for California at the end of summer. So I've given myself like a two week period where we can just relax and kind of finish things. So, you know, I'm satisfied with where I'm at in the summer, but there's still a lot to do. Like, I definitely want to take full advantage of August. I've got Hood To coast, we're doing like California. We've got parties, birthdays to go to. So it still feels, like, very overwhelming with the amount of stuff I have to get done before I can start to think that, like, I'm transitioning to fall. You know what I mean? [00:02:58] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. That's how I feel too. I mean, I know you're such a fall girly, and, like, that's when your. Your time is shining. But I don't know. I'm, like, curious because this is your. Is it your first fall? No, this is your second fall, actually. So I'm just curious how it will feel going into your second. Second fall living in Oregon because, you know, like, what winter looks like these now and see how you feel about it. [00:03:20] Speaker A: Second fall. Yeah, I know. It's gonna be awesome, though. I do thrive in fall. I'm very excited. I got, like, all my backyard done, and I put up a bunch of candles and stuff, and it's just gonna be a really fun fall. But we're not there yet. Like I said, we still got quite a bit to go and. And things to do. Anyway, do you want to, like, let the listener know what the topic is today? [00:03:45] Speaker B: Yeah, we're gonna do some hot topics. We just wanted to do a little update first, though, on Party Barge, if that's okay with you. Cave, how do you feel about attending your first ever Party Barge? [00:03:59] Speaker A: I survived, which, I don't know, like, about 75 into the day was like, oh, gosh, I don't know if I'm gonna make it, because it was so fun. We got on the boat very early. Like, nine o'. Clock. Not, like, very early. And we were on the boat all day, which is great. Like, I think 5 o' clock is when we got off the boat, and, oh, man, talk about a sobering experience. Like, you're having fun all day in the sunshine, and then. Right. As soon as you get off the boat, onto the concrete, like, my world just dramatically shifted. Right. [00:04:35] Speaker B: Isn't it crazy, the feeling a little. [00:04:37] Speaker A: Bit of a headache, but all in all, like, I was on a boat on a Friday. It was beautiful with, like, the most wonderful. The most wonderful, like, human beings. Everybody on the boat was so beautiful and, like, just loving and supportive. Yeah, they were really. They're wonderful humans, so thanks for having me. [00:04:56] Speaker B: That's really sweet. Yeah. And then we got to camp afterwards, which was really nice, too, because I didn't camp last year, and it was definitely a mistake because I was just. Yeah, it's like, exactly what Cave said. Just, like, once you get off the boat and you're just like, oh, my God, what Now like what do I do with myself? It's kind of crazy. So it's really nice to just get to like go to camp and like chill and relax and just get to like hang out and like keep, keep the party going a little bit but also not have to like drive an hour back home and everything. So yeah, it was fun. It is definitely a national holiday in our friend group now. So we did it big and I'm really happy that it was really successful like this year was. [00:05:36] Speaker A: Yeah, camp was the best. We had the most beautiful view. [00:05:39] Speaker B: Just so fun and. And this crew just like really stepped it up this year. Everyone was just like all hands on deck with like bringing stuff and like helping with coordinating and the crew just like really made it all happen really, really easily this year. Last year was kind of a show towards the like few days leading up to it. Just like people dropping out and like not paying and everything because I pay everything up front and so it's just like kind of a mess if people do that to me. But anyways, yeah, crew really stood up, stood out this time and it was great. So very successful. Party barge, I would say. Fourth annual. Happy to report it was successful. Come back next year for the fifth annual. I hope anyways. [00:06:26] Speaker A: Oh my gosh, we should get that T shirt. I'm kidding. [00:06:31] Speaker B: I know. Well, yeah, next year. I already thought about this. I'm definitely like getting something, some sort of fifth annual commemorative. Even though everyone hasn't really done all five years. But it's gonna be worth it. It's gonna be great. Anyways. Yeah, we're just like going through the work week now and we are gonna do some hot topics for you all. I kind of picked out just like some light hearted things that I would like to go over. Kaife, do you want to kick us off though with the things that you found out because you were doing some heavy hitters so. [00:07:04] Speaker A: Well, I want to get your opinion on this whole. Astronomer slash Coldplay slash. So Gwyneth Paltrow came out with like the video for Astronomer employees today and there's been a lot of chit chat about like how effective marketing it is and I'm just kind of curious, have you seen it? Do you like the idea of you know, companies basically buying ad space with a famous person to just like make a public statement through her? I don't know. What are your thoughts? [00:07:31] Speaker B: I haven't seen the video. The. But like I don't know, I think it's kind of shitty to. I don't know, to like, put her in that situation because she's Chris Martin's ex wife and it like happened at a Coldplay concert or whatever. So I feel like it's just like not a very good look for that company. But I don't know, the fact that she would do it, like, I wonder. I don't really know. I never really followed their like divorce or anything, but. But the fact that she would actually do it is like kind of shitty. Like, I don't know. I mean, obviously Coldplay had nothing to do with that whole scandal, but it's just silly the way that it like worked out. I wonder. Like, I don't really know if they have like a good relationship or not, but it's just like Coldplay got a lot of press, so maybe they're not mad about it. Maybe they're just like, whatever and it's like a huge joke. And so it doesn't matter that she's doing that. But yeah, what is the actual video? Like, what happens in it? What, what does she do? What is she required to do? [00:08:30] Speaker A: I don't think the Coldplay is mad at it because I did know that they like a whole ton of additional stuff and listeners and like downloads and people are buying their albums again. And I know that like, because it was specifically Gwyneth Paltrow. This whole conversation has now become like such a way to separate the company from the ex, now ex CEO and who, whoever, whatever her, you know, head of HR title is. So like, there's a lot of conversation about people saying because the company went with Gwyneth Paltrow, they can actually dictate the narrative. And I'm sure that astronomers, like the company itself, fairly happy about the free marketing or like the buzz around their company. Like, how many people do we know actually knew what that company was or could even recollect like who they are until this whole thing happened. So like, I suspect that everybody's really happy. They're totally taking advantage of like the momentum because this is such a scandal. I don't know. [00:09:33] Speaker B: To be fair, I don't know. [00:09:35] Speaker A: Marketing component. I just feel really bad for the unwitting victim that we don't know. [00:09:45] Speaker B: Yeah, I feel like, I mean, it's just wild. Like, I did read, or I didn't read it, but I watched a tick tock video of this girl reading the statement from the wife of the CEO that was caught and her statement was like so powerful and just like really like women's empowerment type situation. She was just like, whatever. Like, obviously they didn't have that great of a marriage because she was like, I don't really care that much. It's not like it was a surprise to her or something. It didn't sound like it anyways. And so, yeah, maybe it was just like that was their gateway to being able to get a divorce or something. So maybe like, shit happens for a reason. I don't know. So. I don't know. I feel like it's really sad to, like, destroy two people's lives because of something like that. Like, obviously they stepped down and everything, but it's also just like they did it to themselves. Like, who goes to a public thing when you're a cheater? I don't know. That just seems like, so obvious to not. Do you know what I mean? Especially when you're at that high of a level, so I don't feel bad for them or anything thing, but it's just like, kind of sad. [00:10:51] Speaker A: Yeah, totally. Anyway, that was my first one. I was just like, kind of surprised that Gwyneth Paltrow even introduced her. Like, how did she get involved in this scandal other than being the ex wife of Chris Martin from Coldplay? But now she's been like, you know, in the, in the news again, whatever. She's marketing away. What? What's your hot topic? [00:11:11] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm just gonna kick it off with something not nearly as serious. Today is National Chicken Wing Day, yo. I like low key. Like, would love some chicken wings right now. That sounds so good. I saw some tik tok videos today of people just like, eating wings and I was like, damn, that sounds hella good right now. I could do that. Also, on the food note, I'll just do two wrapped in one because they're very non important, but Starbucks is bringing back their raspberry syrup, so that's exciting. They have like a whole new drink and everything. Like a raspberry cold foam. That sounds like low key. Be real good for summer. Like raspberries, we all know are my favorite fruit. I mean, figs are my favorite favorite fruit. But like, low key on the daily, like, fruit is a raspberry for sure because you can't really find figs most of the year. But yeah, so I'm gonna definitely gonna have to try that raspberry syrup because that just sounds Chef's kiss for sure. It's definitely. Oh, wait, it hasn't totally launched yet. [00:12:17] Speaker A: Raspberry cold foam does sound pretty delicious. [00:12:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll have to look at the app and see the actual, like, release date. Hang on. Just A second. It said that it was. It hasn't totally come out yet. Hold the phone. Let's see. Oh, no, it did. That was, that was a thing from two days ago. So it's definitely out now. It's there if you want to go get it. Yeah. Okay. Those are my first two. [00:12:45] Speaker A: Oh, perfect. I'm gonna go try it tomorrow. I'm just like, walk down to Starbucks and just go try it. Nice. Okay, so we talked about Gwyneth Paltrow. I wanted to give everybody kind of an update on the Diddy thing. But you're not talking or you're not like paying attention to this. [00:13:04] Speaker B: Right? So this is all brand new information for you. Yeah, it totally is. But I'm so interested because I do. I mean, I know he got convicted maybe or something. Something happened with where he actually got a sentence maybe. Is that true? [00:13:17] Speaker A: Yes, I think they. Okay, so just like give a quick timeline slash recap and then let's go into the. Because they haven't given him, given him sentencing yet. I think that's back or it's going to be in October, but I think that he was convicted. I'm going to have to double check and see. But Basically back in September 2024, he was arrested and indicted on racketeering, sex trafficking, prostitution. November, he was denied Bail for the third time in February of 2025. So that was this year. One defense attorney withdrew from the case of that member he like fired or that person just with withdrew themselves. And then in May, the trial began. In July, they came back with the verdict. He was acquitted with two convictions. So he had one acquittal and two convictions, I think. But I'll double check on that in July. Like just now they're basically done with all the motions for seeking bail. They're, you know, going to be basically sentencing him on the 3rd of October. He's currently being detained in Brooklyn having been convicted specifically on prostitution transportation charges. So. So he is, I think acquitted from the most serious charges. But he will definitely, very likely be doing some jail time. We have no idea what that looks like, but he is, I don't know. I think that there's like people who say he didn't get a harsh enough like what's it called? Verdict from the jury. But maybe in the sentencing part we can kind of see, you know, what happens on these different types of prostitution transportation charges. So anyway, he has definitely been convicted. We're waiting to see what happens. But he will likely do jail time, which I think is. We're not done with this story by a long shot. But it's kind of an interesting way to see this. [00:15:19] Speaker B: It just seems wild. [00:15:21] Speaker A: Come through, but go ahead. [00:15:23] Speaker B: Yeah, I feel like it's just so fascinating that, I mean, like, being rich and famous does help you, right? Like, this is just, like, proof because, yeah, everyone knows what he did, but just, like, getting the evidence for it to be able to convict him is, like, where they're hung up, I think. And so it's. Yeah, it just seems like he's not being held to as many things as people initially thought that he was going to, just because, like, they're having a hard time proving whatever. And also it's like a lot of, like, he said, she said stuff. So it's just like, kind of a bummer because, you know, he can just like, hire every attorney known to man, and it is what it is. But I feel like very similarly to the whole, like, files, like the. I don't know if you're following this at all, but, like, the Epstein files and like, Giselle Maxwell or whatever her name is, she is just, like, going through all this stuff now. And, like, it's just interesting. There's like, all these videos where it's like, you know how they're never, you know, they're never going to release, like, the victim's names or they're. They're never going to, like, talk about it and put these people, like, on blast for what they did is because they grew into be women. If they grew into be men, like, people would be freaking out about it. But, like, they think that women just, like, that's what they should be doing or that it's just a woman or, like, whatever the case may be, it's so, like, just absurd and just, like, so sad. And obviously Trump has a lot to deal with it as well, because he doesn't want his out there. But it's just like, everyone's saying, like, oh, you. You, like, if anyone's like, liberal, like, you liberals just don't want, like, you just want Trump to go down. You don't want everyone else. And it's like, no, release the whole list. Like, a pedophile is a pedophile, is a pedophile. Like, come on. Whoever is on that list needs to be brought to. Just like, I just. It was so freaking gross. And just like, the way that it's being portrayed now and like, the fact that everyone's like, oh, now there's no files. And then before, when there was. It's just like all this back and Forth. Anyway, so I feel like it's just very similar with the Diddy case and it's probably very similar to the O.J. simpson case. Like, you know, just it's. It is what it is. I don't know. And then that goes into our whole, like, legal system. And that's fucked up too. And it's really sad and depressing. But any hosers? I'm very curious. What will happen with the Epstein files? [00:17:55] Speaker A: Ghislaine. Maxine. [00:17:56] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I think is her name. [00:18:00] Speaker A: The fact that she only got a 20 year, like federal prison sentence, but. [00:18:04] Speaker B: Also. [00:18:06] Speaker A: She is a monster. [00:18:08] Speaker B: But also fascinating that. Isn't it interesting she now is the only one in jail for that and she's a woman. You know what I mean? It's just like how, like, obviously we know how big of a role she played in the whole situation and obviously Epstein is dead. But like, it's fascinating that she's still the only one being held accountable at this point in time. Like, how is that possible? [00:18:28] Speaker A: Totally. [00:18:29] Speaker B: How does that work? Like, that's frustrating as. But whatever. I rest my case. I. That just pisses me off. [00:18:37] Speaker A: That is super frustrating. Yeah, it's ridiculous. Anyway. All right, that was mine. What's your last one? [00:18:44] Speaker B: Okay. I was just gonna talk about. Do a little shout out to Brooke Hogan. Did like a tribute to Hulk Hogan. And there was another thing. Ozzy Osbourne has also passed last week and Sharon Osborne had like posted that he set up a. I know a. What's it called? Like a bouquet of black roses to be delivered to Sharon Osborne like every day or something for the rest of her life. Which is so freaking cute. But also just like wild and insane at the same time. But just like a little shout out RIP to Ozzy and Hulk. It's just weird that they happened like in the same week. Like, I think it was back to back. I can't remember. Everyone was just like, what is happening? Like the world is ending. When both of them died, not saying, but Hulk Hogan like went out on kind of a bad note. Like he kind of got some weird shit going on the last few years. Like he got accused of some stuff. But yeah, Ozzy Osborne also not looking so hot. But he was like on tour like not that long ago. So it's just very confusing. I don't know actually why he died, but yeah, just very suspicious deaths, those two. But anyways, I haven't looked into it much farther. [00:19:59] Speaker A: I don't know why he died either. I know that he couldn't have been like the healthiest. [00:20:03] Speaker B: Yeah, he did a lot of steroids. So like Hulk Hogan's not really a surprise. I'm sure his heart just like shut down. And Ozzy Osborne did a lot of drugs. So the fact that he made it this far, pretty impressive. But still weird that they just like kind of died out of the blue, it seemed. I mean, Ozzy looked pretty gnarly for a while, but yeah, very interesting. So rip. [00:20:26] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, around the same time. [00:20:29] Speaker B: Very interesting. You got any others? [00:20:32] Speaker A: I want to just talk to you like briefly about Untamed. Have you watched the new Netflix like, series? [00:20:40] Speaker B: Yeah, I started it and I've watched the first three episodes and it's kind of. [00:20:45] Speaker A: Okay, good, good. [00:20:47] Speaker B: Low key is so bad. I mean. Okay, first of all, I know it's like a dramatization. I know that it's not supposed to be super accurate, but like, couldn't they have asked people who work in Yosemite, like a few details to like, make it a little bit more realistic? Like, it's just frustrating. Like, I know, whatever. Also, I don't know the storyline, but I am gathering that it's not great and I just like would like to low key throw it out there that Yosemite does not have a like drug trafficking ring going on around it. I don't know if that's true. I've only watched the first three episodes, but I'm just like, they need to put a disclaimer out saying this is fictionalized and whatever because it's just frustrating. And then like just in the first episode, like the superintendent was wearing like a regular suit. Like the superintendent wears class A uniforms and the park rangers wear specific uniforms. And it just like that kind of stuff just like irritated me. The fact that like the very first scene, the they're on el cap and they're like looking down into the valley floor and there's like no people, there's only trees, there's no buildings. There's like, it's like, have you ever been to the Valley? Literally ever? That is not what it looks like. And then they're like, yeah, this is just crazy because there's like thousands and thousands of acres of un. Like unsearched land. And I'm just like, bro, every single inch of you, somebody has been touched by a human at this point. Like, get out of here. It's just annoying. But I'm trying to be like, have an open mind and not hate it so much. The person that I'm watching it with, he's like, I'm Glad you tell me. Like, realistic facts. But, like, I still really like it. I'm like, okay, fine. Like, I understand. I'm gonna try and not be such a hater on it, but. Yeah. What are your thoughts? [00:22:39] Speaker A: Initially, I don't mind it. I think it's fun. I was not expecting Eric Bana, and I. I guess I'm only three episodes in, so I don't want to, like, tear into the characters, but the writing is not the best. I don't know. And the acting just feels a little forced sometimes. But, you know, I'm enjoying it. I actually am just watching it for, like, the shots because I want to see the park, but I think that it's going to be one of those very predictable plots, you know? [00:23:10] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, the first episode was good. The second episode was good. The third episode was, like, kind of a builder, I feel like. And it's. Yeah. Hopefully it gets better, that's all. But, yeah, let's go into gratitudes and grievances. Are you ready? Do you have one or the other that you would like to do? [00:23:30] Speaker A: Yes. [00:23:30] Speaker B: And I can pull up the slack on the other. [00:23:33] Speaker A: I. Yeah, I can do a grievance. [00:23:38] Speaker B: So. [00:23:40] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay. I feel so stupid saying this, but I still haven't been able to pay my parking ticket because Shasta county still hasn't updated or fixed their server so that they can do, like, payments online. For those of you who don't know, I got a speeding ticket, which isn't great, but, yeah, I haven't been able to pay it, and it's due in, like, the end of August, so I've gone and called them. I must have spent, like three or four hours on the phone with them the other day. And I tried it again this morning and it's still not working. So at this point, I think I'm gonna have to physically drive down, stop at Shasta county, and pay it in person while I'm, like, on my way to my folks, which is just the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. This is insane. So that's my big grievance. Figure it out. Shasta County. I can't with you since. [00:24:31] Speaker B: Insane. Yeah. That's so lame. That's so frustrating. What do they say when you call them? [00:24:39] Speaker A: They don't even answer. It's just on hold for, like, three hours because I had been calling and trying to get a hold of somebody, calling and try to get a hold of somebody, and it was always like, pick up agent. And then automatically it shuts off. Or, like, it doesn't answer the phone. They just, like, pick up, and then the phone call dies. And so I'm on the phone waiting for somebody for three hours, and it. They finally didn't, like, I just. I couldn't deal with it anymore. I just hung up the phone. Isn't that crazy? [00:25:09] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. That is nice. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, it's just frustrating because that is not your fault. Like, you've done your due diligence. You know what I mean? [00:25:18] Speaker A: Look. Yeah, I'll pull it up right now. It's still not working. [00:25:20] Speaker B: That is crazy. I'm so sorry. I hope you don't get dinged for that. Or, like, can you, like, file a complaint? Like, can you file a grievance and be like, I'm not paying this if no one fucking ANSWERS the phone? [00:25:31] Speaker A: 100. I feel like I should just go show up for the day. You can, like, go to court and tell them that. [00:25:37] Speaker B: It's ridiculous. I'm sorry. I'm also grieving for you because that's just insane not to, like, add salt to a wound. [00:25:46] Speaker A: I mean, maybe I can. I don't know. I'll have to keep, like, looking. [00:25:50] Speaker B: But, I mean, I guess the best case scenario is that you're driving to California at the end of the month. [00:25:56] Speaker A: It's just crazy. Like, I am so ready to be done with it. [00:25:59] Speaker B: Yeah. 100. I agree. Okay. My gratitude is just for. [00:26:08] Speaker A: Anyway, so that's what I'm feeling right now. Just grieved. [00:26:11] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. My. My gratitude is just for the crew. Like I said, everyone just really showed up, and they brought all the snacks and all the stuff to set up the boat and all the. We all dressed up. We were pirates and mermaids, and everyone was just really brought their A game. Like I said, everyone, like, Venmoed me on time, and they all filled out their waivers and everything, which was so helpful to, like, get us checked in and everything. So I'm just very grateful to that Squish crew for making Party Barge Day just so fun and easy. And I just was, like, pleasantly surprised by how chill everything was because everything has just been, like, pretty insane lately. So. Yeah, I just love it so much, and I'm happy to continue the tradition. So thank you, Kay, for coming, and I'm happy you made the trek over, and I'm really sad that you didn't love it that much because you're on a boat all day and you got sunburn and everything else. But next year is going to be better. You're going to be so prepared and you're going to know exactly what you're getting yourself into and it's going to be great. [00:27:20] Speaker A: Totally. Yeah. [00:27:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:22] Speaker A: I still had a great day. Like, everybody was lovely. The sun was great. [00:27:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:25] Speaker A: I'm excited for next year. I feel like now I know I have a little bit more bearing, so. Yeah. Anyway, it's good to see you. I'll talk to you soon. Bye, everybody. [00:27:34] Speaker B: But that's it for us. It's. Yeah, it's good to see everybody. This was like the most normal episode we've had in a long time. We love you all so much and we'll see you in two weeks. Love you. Bye. [00:27:49] Speaker A: We love you all. Thanks for being candid, Sam. That's all for today's episode. [00:28:23] Speaker B: Hope you enjoyed listening as much as we love you.
