[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:16] Speaker B: Hi, everybody. Oh, wow. Getting into it. This is Kelly. Who do you guys think it was Singing? That's the real talk. Was not me. [00:00:30] Speaker A: Just saying whatever. Jealous. [00:00:33] Speaker B: Yeah, she really would. Oh, no. We're almost in Mariah Carey season. Barf. Oh, my God, Kill me now. I'm not prepared. [00:00:40] Speaker A: I above the, like, thought process that you should not be decorating for Halloween until like the week before Halloween and. [00:00:45] Speaker B: Christmas until like the week before Christmas. Okay, Hot take. Because Halloween is such a short time frame that, like, you kind of have to at least decorate for the whole month of October. No, because, like, it's a lot of work. [00:00:58] Speaker A: It's a lot of freaking work. I'm saying, like, I have my fall decorations up. I've got like my wreath on my door and I've got some small little. I have this like glitter skull. It's like a black glitter thing that I have. [00:01:10] Speaker B: It's cool. [00:01:12] Speaker A: Anyway. And like pampas grass everywhere, whatever. But, like, I'm not gonna do full on. There's a house. I think I've spoken to about them before on the pod. They're not even 400ft away from me and they have like two 25,000 inflatables. [00:01:26] Speaker B: Oh, God, that's my nightmare. [00:01:27] Speaker A: Like, nightmare before Christmas. They've got all kinds of like Oogie Boogies and I don't even know, but they just have. And it's. It's literally the like September 22nd. They've had it up and they're going to have it up all the way through New Year's. I don't understand. [00:01:41] Speaker B: Whatever. Yeah. [00:01:42] Speaker A: So, I mean, I guess I'm not here to yuck on anybody's yum, but it's way too early for Halloween. Like, we should still be talking about fall, in my opinion. [00:01:50] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure. Because, like, right after Halloween, that's when people put Christmas up, right? And that's like two solid months because there's no, like, Thanksgiving decorations, basically. [00:01:58] Speaker A: So my birthday in November and Thanksgiving in November, but other things to look forward to. Like, let's put Christmas on the back burner anyway. [00:02:05] Speaker B: Yeah, for sure. Are you guys decorations, like, in the store? [00:02:08] Speaker A: Oh my gosh. [00:02:09] Speaker B: Yeah. It's insane. They already have, like Christmas candy. I mean, they definitely have had Halloween candy out for a while, but like, they have like Christmas theme themed things in like TJ Maxx already and all those kind of stores. So Hobby lobby and whatever. But wait, have you made a plan for going to Halloween Town Town? I can't remember what it's called. St. Helena or whatever. Yep. [00:02:30] Speaker A: St. Helena, Helena, something like that. I don't know. We needed like a native Oregonian to come in. [00:02:35] Speaker B: Yeah, true. [00:02:35] Speaker A: How to, like, pronounce California girls. Yeah. So I'm this weekend, actually on Saturday, I've plans to go with Dr. Mitchell and her two cute little fun pumpkin patch. Well, TBD, but pretty sure it's gonna happen this Sunday, so. [00:02:51] Speaker B: Amazing. Oh, that's great. Cool. Yeah. You'll have to keep us updated on our Halloween episode, everybody. We're gonna do a real Halloween episode. We haven't figured out what that's gonna be yet, but don't you worry, we're coming in hot. Yeah, don't get mad at us. We got a lot of going on. Speaking of, do you want to give a little updates what's going on with you? [00:03:11] Speaker A: Yeah, it's been like a month and a half, I feel like, since we got on the phone and like, you know, chit chatted and whatever, recorded. But yeah, so it's been a lot of studying. I'm actually going forward with my securities Industries Essential, which is the SIE this month or early next month, which is just another continuing education for my transition to financial advising, which I'm really excited about. I feel like I've done a lot of studying. This material is, like, so boring. It is like watching cement dry. Honestly, it's oh, no stuff in the world, but it's kind of interesting. It's just all the basics around investments and, like, what, you know, FINRA is and what the SEC is and what ACTS did what and how do we regulate and all that kind of good stuff. So it's interesting. It's drier than dirt and I'm almost done with it, thank God. [00:04:07] Speaker B: Nice. [00:04:07] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:04:08] Speaker B: Oh, that's really exciting, though. It's nice to just feel like you're moving forward at least. You know, it has been a really. [00:04:13] Speaker A: Productive, like, four months, you know, in May. This last year was really sad and not really sure what was going to happen. So, like, just this short amount of time, I feel very excited about this career prospect. I feel like this is the right direction. It's so relevant to today's time and like, our generation in particular. So, yeah, I feel pretty good about it, but I haven't. I mean, I haven't really done a lot of traveling. I've just been out meeting a ton of people. I went to a really cool spot in Portland and then the Portland, like, I haven't gone anywhere for a week since Donald Trump decided to deploy people to war. Ravaged Portland. [00:04:52] Speaker B: Right. [00:04:52] Speaker A: Get my little half, half caf, decaf or whatever, latte. So at home, have you been watching all the TikToks about this? It's pretty, pretty freaking hilarious. [00:05:02] Speaker B: Oh my gosh. Yeah, I think I sent you one. That's just people making fun of. Yeah, I mean, it's just crazy that he's basically sending troops to every like, Democratic city. Like, that's a real punch in the face, you know what I mean? But I did want to mention for as far as your job is concerned, that I just feel like as an outsider, like, I just feel like you're so much more like at ease and just like happy compared to when you were being a recruiter. Like you were just on the phone and working so much as a recruiter and you're like trying to hit numbers and it just seems so freaking miserable. And now you at least like have some perspective of like something new, something different, something like learning something new and just like, yeah, you're doing a lot of talking and meeting people and whatever, but it just feels like less like ew, draining and icky and I don't know. [00:05:48] Speaker A: So I, I like started this with the team basically, and they're very flexible. I have a lot of autonomy. I can like work from home and. [00:05:58] Speaker B: Study when I need to. [00:05:59] Speaker A: And I don't know, I just feel like the, the physical aspects of my job has been so less stressful and like obvious in my mental health and like what I, you know, it just, it feels better. I feel so much better after four or five month. You know, the last two or three years have been pretty bad, but the last three or four months have been pretty great. So. [00:06:21] Speaker B: Good. Oh, I'm so glad. [00:06:23] Speaker A: Anyway, that's amazing. [00:06:26] Speaker B: Wow. Or like work or that lack thereof, I guess. I'm currently furloughed, so if you haven't been paying attention, I mean, I don't expect people to pay attention. I wish some people would pay attention to what's going on in the news. But it is what it is. Like if it's not affecting you on the day to day, like, I don't know why you would be paying attention. But yeah, so I'm currently furloughed and basically it's just like it, it feels like very. An attack. I don't know. Yeah. Trump basically sent out a mass email. Well, it came from the White House, not Trump specifically, but there was like a mass email that every government agency got the day before the government was shut down. And it was, it literally said like the Democrats are shutting down the government. Like thank the Democrats. It was like so toe pointed and so just, I mean we know, we know that that's how he operates and he loves doing the blame game and everything else. And it's just so frustrating because yeah, I feel like they're finally like standing up to him or someone trying to stand up to him and, or this administration and do what's right and actually put a spending bill through that makes sense and actually keep things in the budget that we need and that hundreds, I mean millions of people rely on Medicare, Medicaid, the Affordable Care. And so it's just like that is the one thing that Democrats are asking for and they're not even remotely giving in. So it's just like one of those things where like I know and historically Democrats just like bend over and they just like let whoever. They just like don't want the government to shut down, you know, so they just like do whatever, try to come to a consensus of like what possibly they could come to an agreement about or whatever. And. But this time I'm so glad that they're not even like budging and so I gladly will be furloughed. I happily will stay at home right now because I don't, I'm just not in it to work right now. Like my job is pretty miserable. We have so many restrictions on what we can and can't do. I pretty much hate work. So it's really hard for me to want to go right now anyways. And now just with them doing this, it's just like, you know, nail in the coffin basically of just like you too. Like I, I don't know. So anyways, yeah, they just hate federal workers so much and we're already cut by so much and him just like threatening that if the shuts down they're gonna riff us all is like so insane and I'm just so tired of it. Like it just. Yeah. [00:08:58] Speaker A: From what I've learned or like, I mean, I don't know, I. It feels like he's holding it hostage. Like the Republicans in the GOP party have deliberately not shown any compromise because they know that they don't have to. [00:09:13] Speaker B: Right. [00:09:13] Speaker A: They can hold the government operations hostage because they own a majority totally. And until they get what they want, the, you know, they're just going to blame the Democrats for not giving them what they want. Seems like such a really narrow minded, short sighted argument, which is telling. Well, you would think it would be telling, but people are still going to defend their actions. But like clearly they don't care. They don't care about the individual person. They don't care about us as citizens. They don't care about our freedoms, what our tax dollars are actually like, what we're entitled to when it comes to our tax dollars and like those, those programs. So it just. And especially because they're, they're deliberately attacking the Democrats, the liberal cities, like freedom of speech when it comes to the late night, you know, comedy hosts. This is all part of the playbook for fascism. It's all part of the playbook for, you know, what's the word I'm looking for? He's a dictator. [00:10:12] Speaker B: Wants a dictatorship. Yeah. He wants to be a king. [00:10:15] Speaker A: He wants, you know, I just don't understand how, how people can defend that action. So that's why I'm. Well, I'm not going home for the holidays this year for other reasons, but I am slightly relieved that I don't have to go and chit chat with people and pretend that's the thing. Like, I'm not the person to go and have like a really pointed or like an argument because they don't listen anyway. [00:10:40] Speaker B: I know it's really hard to change someone's mind. Yeah. And you can't really have like a diplomatic, like, discussion about it in many cases because it's so different, such different sides. [00:10:52] Speaker A: People will talk over one another. They, like, start to raise their, like their volume and their voice. And I just immediately check out, like, if you're not gonna have a rational conversation where you're like, actively listening, listening, then there's no point in me being here. I'm just wasting my breath. [00:11:06] Speaker B: So, yeah, 100. [00:11:08] Speaker A: Really very awful way to think about it. I don't recommend it. Like, I. For those of us or those people in like, the politics and the media and whatever who are actively pushing back. Like, I want to support them, but when it comes to the everyday person and my responsibility to change their mind, I just don't think that that's something I'm willing to take. Take up. [00:11:30] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's just hard when, like, like exactly what you said. Like, Republicans hold the House in the Senate and the White House, and they're still blaming the Democrats for, like, all this. And it's like, that makes no sense. That literally makes no sense. Like, if anyone had a brain like their constituents, like, just literally don't think about the, that they're saying or they wouldn't be following. I mean, I don't know. Who knows at this point? Like, I think some people are Just doing it to be ironic or whatever at this point, but it's very frustrating to be a government employee right now. Yeah, I mean, I, I'm just really hoping that they hold their ground and that people don't give in because, yeah, I feel like just Democrats and especially Schumer and stuff just like always just lets it go. And when they passed a continuing resolution back in like February, March of this year, it just seemed like they, you know, they like regretted it after they did that. So I'm hoping that it actually works out. I'm hoping that it actually does something and makes a change. So we'll see. [00:12:32] Speaker A: I was, yeah, I'm hoping that. I mean, we can always be very optimistic and hope. But I was watching Jon Stewart the other day because he's back on the air and I low key love him. I'm obsessed with him and he had this like author on. And I'm gonna read this book. I don't know if anybody else is gonna read it, but I'm going to. It's called we the People by Jill Lepore. And it's supposed to be kind of a hard read. So it's definitely something that's gonna take me maybe a month and a half to get through. Yeah, yeah, that's apparently. But it's basically here's like part of the thing on Amazon. Lepore's remarkable history seeks to rekindle a sense of constitutional possibility. So, like, she kind of goes through all the various bureaucratic back and forth about what went down with building out the Constitution. And I think it's going to enlighten at least me and hopefully other people on like, the Constitution needs to be flexible enough that when things change and we have situations like fascism trying to take over democracy, like, how do we go back to that bureaucratic process where we slow down like the authoritarian rule and just engage in that dialogue again? The dialogue of what do our amendments need to look like? How do we take care of people? How do we keep the true sense of the like the Constitution. But know that like, that was something that took a 30 to 40 to 50 year period to actually put in writing. Let's like maintain that rather than just looking at it as doctorate. And so anyway, interesting plug there. So all. Yeah, the book is good. I have totally kind of hoping somebody buys it for me for my birthday. It's like $32, so. [00:14:14] Speaker B: Oh, nice. Okay. Yeah. Anybody, any listeners want to get Cafe a birthday present? There it is. But no, I was gonna say the other thing. Our boy Gavin, Newsome really just doing the most with his Twitter and just roasting Trump on Twitter, and it's so freaking funny. And, yeah, we just. I mean, again, I don't know any very much about his politics and how he operates, but I'm just loving him dishing it back right now. I'm just here for it because no one else is doing it. And it's just like, the things that Trump puts on the Internet is unreal. Like, it really is. Like, can you even believe that that is our president? Like, that is embarrassing, that. [00:14:56] Speaker A: Did you watch him try to pronounce a seat of medicine? [00:14:59] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Yeah. I cannot. I cannot. I literally cannot. Like, that is so embarrassing. Like, why did you not prep him before he went out there? Like, oh, my God, the conference. [00:15:12] Speaker A: So, like, for you to not know the word while you're stepping out to, like, be on national tv, it's just kind of that. It's. It's so telling about how unorganized and unprofessional these people are, but whatever. Driving me nuts. [00:15:25] Speaker B: Absolutely embarrassing. [00:15:26] Speaker A: Like, this is gonna be one of those, like, free speech things that they come after us for. [00:15:30] Speaker B: No, totally. I did see, as a federal employee, we were sent this information. It was like, if you said anything about, like, Charlie Kirk's death on anything, like, you should take it down just so you don't get, like, targeted or anything. So we're not saying anything on this podcast. It's just. It's out there in the universe. So. Yeah. But anyways, other than that, update's very exciting. I am going tomorrow to Lindsay Marie Readin's wedding. So it is finally here. It's officially October, everybody. And, yeah, it is Lindsay Marie's wedding weekend. So we're going. Yeah, we're going camping. I mean, there's a lodge there, too, but going camping and Mom PA are on their way up right now, and so, yeah, I'll have lots of updates after. But it's going to be so fun. It's just going to be, like a huge reunion, so I'm very excited. Wish my liver luck, because it's gonna be a party. Yeah. And then. Yeah, just, like, lots of other stuff going on. Well, now that I'm furloughed, I don't know. And depending on how long it lasts and everything, I don't know what's gonna happen, but, yeah, I just. We're gonna be on the move a little bit, but life is slowing down. Life is getting a little bit more chill. [00:16:46] Speaker A: So excited. Fall, I thrive in. I'm Just like, like last night. I think we even still have it on. I can't tell. Last night was the first night we put on the heater. It was like, wow, two in our house. I feel okay. I'm gonna throw my husband under the bus here. But like, that's too warm. Just like get a blanket and put some socks on and you're gonna be 62k. [00:17:06] Speaker B: Florida for sleeping or just normal life? 62 is way too cold for a normal life. 62 is good for sleeping, but normal life, no, no, no. It has to be at least 68. I'm still cold in 68 in a jacket and like a sweatshirt and pants. [00:17:20] Speaker A: Oh my goodness, such pants. [00:17:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:22] Speaker A: You and my husband, because he said the same thing. So he put it to like 68, but it's only 64 or 55 outside. And I'm like, I feel like we could. I had the window open yesterday and I was reading by the window with an open like whatever. Maybe I run hot, I don't know. But we do officially have the heater going, so it's unreal. I'm very excited. [00:17:43] Speaker B: Anyway, yeah, I'm baking pumpkin bread right now and I made this like cream cheese frosting for. Oh my God, it's so good. But I'm gonna bring it this weekend. So we have snacks for this weekend and everything. What else? I feel like we're gonna update on other things that are going on. We're gonna have guests in the future. I'm not gonna say who they are quite yet because we don't have them scheduled on the schedule, but yeah. And then we were just hoping to. Oh yeah, I was gonna ask, are you still doing it? [00:18:12] Speaker A: I wrapped it up. It went really well. I feel great. And then to. Yesterday is the day that I ended it, had some champagne. I feel really good. And then I am thinking about doing it again this year. I just don't know exactly when that's gonna happen because I have my wedding anniversary coming up. I have my sister in law coming for like a week and then maybe in November it's just easier for me to do. [00:18:36] Speaker B: But I don't know. Not for Thanksgiving though. Dude. And your birthday. [00:18:41] Speaker A: I could probably do a whole 30 Thanksgiving, like the full thing. I won't do a bird though, because it's just me and my husband. So. Yeah, I'm not gonna do like a 30 pound turkey, but I can do like Cornish hen and then like a ham for him. [00:18:53] Speaker B: And that's true. And just do veggies and stuff. Yeah, yeah, that's great. So I don't know. [00:18:58] Speaker A: We'll see. But yeah, I really enjoyed it this time around. The thing that saved me was eating breakfast which I don't normally do but I. I didn't prep anything for breakfast other than a hard boiled egg. So I had like an apple and a hard boiled egg or I had like a bunch of fruit leathers too. So like nice. There was the RX blueberry bars that I ate. I made my own little medjool stuffed coconut things. Yeah, yeah, that and then broth. Honestly, those bare bone broths I got. [00:19:29] Speaker B: I know they're so good a day. [00:19:30] Speaker A: Or something like that. Maybe one a day. Yeah. They're just like tied me over from a protein standpoint. So yeah, those are my two takeaways. But. Cool. [00:19:39] Speaker B: That's exciting. [00:19:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:19:41] Speaker B: And you feel better body wise and everything. [00:19:43] Speaker A: I feel accomplished. Like my body feels good, I feel less bloated. But I'm just like happy that I, that I got through it, you know, because I have done the whole 30 so many different times but I hadn't done it since. Since we moved in here with the construction and the new job and all that crap. So I feel like I set my mind to something and then I just feel really accomplished in my goal. [00:20:04] Speaker B: So. Cool. [00:20:06] Speaker A: The health benefits and stuff. So anyway, great. [00:20:09] Speaker B: That's awesome. [00:20:10] Speaker A: Make it happen, you know. [00:20:12] Speaker B: Cool. Oh, I did want to update too. I did the Sisters Folk fest last weekend. Good. It was. Yeah. Okay. I did find a video on my phone but it was from backstage like so I couldn't. It's like of their backs but I will. I got the all access pass, baby. But yeah, they. The festival went really well. The weather was so freaking awesome. It was like so warm, which is lovely. It's always so nice when the weather is good. It has been rainy this week though, which is very off or bend. It's like social rain every day but not for the wedding. So thank God. But anyways, yeah, the festival was amazing. So like Sister Spoke fest is just so interesting because two people that were on the lineup basically. But the festival is so cool because it's three days long and every performer performs like basically every day and so you get to see them in different settings. So like some of the stages are like more intimate, like small stages. Some of the stages are big like dancy stages. So they like do a dancy set kind of. Some of them are just like the big ones, the big venues where like it's kind of more like stadium type thing. So they do Like a different kind of set for that. So it's just like a lot of different stages going on and so you just get to see different sides of all the bands. So also like you don't feel like if you miss the band that you're just like never gonna get to see them because you like have different opportunities to see them different times, like stuff like that. So it is just like such a neat festival because you get to bop around and just like see so many different people because there's like so much going on at all times because there's seven stages and so it's just like a really, really neat festival. I like highly, highly recommend. The, the demographic is definitely like a little bit of an older crowd but I'm like here for it. Like they're so freaking cute and they just like love music and they just get so into it and it's just so freaking cool. But anyways, I have a co. So I'm the volunteer, one of the volunteer coordinators and I have like a co volunteer and her name is also Kelly and she lives in Sisters and she is the best and we just get along so well. We just like are so, so goofy together and she's just so fun to be with. So it's really fun to hang out with her all weekend and then we just like work really well together and so she. Yeah, we just like had such good volunteers and everything. We did have a little bit of hiccups. It seems like kind of people are getting sick towards the end of the festival. So we had kind of a lot of cancellations on Sunday which usually doesn't happen. And so people, yeah, kind of left us a little floaty for like take down and stuff like that. So that was kind of a bummer. And then the rain was coming so they definitely wanted to get stuff taken down as fast as possible. But other than that it was awesome. We just like we're running around a little bit for some of, some of the festival but mostly got to see a lot of great music. So yeah, it's just like the best. It's just. Yeah, it's just such a fun festival to work at and everything. So anyways. And yeah, being a staff member is really cool because you get an all access pass and not saying that you actually get to see that much of the music because you're working, but you definitely get time throughout to just like go see people and get to. You get that backstage pass so that you can go and, and go get a little bit more intimate with some of the folks. So. Yeah, and then it's really cool, like, in the green rooms and stuff. Like, we get food and so going in the green rooms and, like, you see all the artists and stuff, and you're just like. [00:23:26] Speaker A: Like, did you talk to, like, our artist and. Or, like, a group? [00:23:30] Speaker B: I'm. I did talk to Joy Clark a lot. She was there on Friday. So she. They have this thing before the festival. It's called. Shoot. What is it called? Some sort of, like, workshop. So it's like, the week before the festival, and anyone can sign up for the work and whatever, but some of the artists, they asked to go to the workshop and then go to Sister's Focus, and so she was there early because. Whatever. So we got to talk to her for a really long time. And she's lovely. Just, like, a really wonderful, like, singer, songwriter. She's from New Orleans, but. Yeah, so. But, like, most of the time you're just like, hi. Like, I don't know what to say to them, you know, because you're just like, hi. Like, you know who they are and stuff. And, like, also, they're just like, wearing such fun outfits and whatever. So you, like, instantly know. You, like, may not know what band that they're in, but you know, they're in a band, and you're just like. But anyways. Yeah, yeah, totally. So anyway, yeah, it was just great. I just highly recommend, if anyone wants to volunteer any of my friends for Sisters Folk Fest. It's just so fun, and it's a good time, and Sisters is so cute, and, like, getting to, like, walk around, bike around. I biked around. I got a new E bike, so that's exciting. Yeah. Yeah. Someone found it for me, so anyways. [00:24:37] Speaker A: Wait, what? You found it for you? [00:24:39] Speaker B: No, sorry. My. [00:24:42] Speaker A: Like, where'd you get. No, I was just. [00:24:44] Speaker B: I was just not gonna put him on blast. But I have a man friend, everybody. [00:24:50] Speaker A: Oh, shoot. Kelly's coming out with the hottie. [00:24:53] Speaker B: I'm not gonna say his name, but, yeah, so he found it for me, and we got such a good deal on it, and he knows all the things, so he was able to, like, test drive it, like, ride it around and ask all the questions, sort of like my husband. [00:25:07] Speaker A: And Kelly's gonna have her man friend. I'm here for it. [00:25:10] Speaker B: That's awesome. Technically, he is my boyfriend now at this point, so. Okay. [00:25:14] Speaker A: We just call him boyfriend. [00:25:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:17] Speaker A: Okay, good. Anyways, to all the listeners. [00:25:21] Speaker B: You're welcome. Yeah, you're welcome, everybody. Yeah, so he. Oh, also, like, Jaro I talked to Jaro this week, everyone, and Jaro and I want to do a follow up because we both are officially not single anymore. So here we go. We're gonna do a follow up episode to that one. Yeah. [00:25:40] Speaker A: Plans out, but that's exciting. [00:25:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Anyways, that's, like, a lot of updates. Let's do some. We're gonna play a little bit of a game, if that's okay. [00:25:53] Speaker A: We can do, like, a quick game, and then we'll do gratitudes and grievances and try to not make this like an hour and a half, but, yeah, we're gonna give it a go. [00:26:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay, that sounds good. Or we can just skip the game if you want to. [00:26:07] Speaker A: Either way, let's. Let's skip the game. We'll make it, like a little bit of a shorter episode, and we'll go right into gratitudes and grievances, because I have a feeling the next episode's gonna be, like, pretty long. [00:26:19] Speaker B: Okay. [00:26:20] Speaker A: A little teaser out there for those of you everybody. [00:26:24] Speaker B: Okay. So let's do a grievance. Do you have any grievances on. On track right now? [00:26:31] Speaker A: I. I feel like I have a lot of grievances. Apparently in the late August September time frame, there's a bunch of yellow jackets that make their home in the ivy that I've been trying to pull out since. [00:26:45] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, Kate, this has been your grievance for the last two episodes. [00:26:48] Speaker A: Yeah. So I'm making my progress with this stupid Ivy, but my grievance is for all of the bugs that I'm seeing still dealing with. And I went to Lowe's and I bought this, like, big can of bug spray stuff that's, like, specific to yellow jackets and specific to spiders. So it's, like, supposed to be great. You go out there once a week, you spray, whatever. And I still have, like, three different nests in my area. Like, I don't understand why it's not working. So, like, I don't know what it is about this damn ivy. Perhaps it's just hospitable and spiders in my house, and I'm just. I'm over it. We pay for those eco shield people to come out and, like, spray and do all these things and, like, keep the bugs and keep the stupid. What are they called? The voles and moles. Anyway, and they're not working, so I'm, like, irritated that I'm paying for the service. It's, like, clearly not working. I'm paying for this stupid insectis spot. Insecticide bug stuff that's, like, not Working. So this project has become the bane of my existence. But I have tear. I think I've torn out like a good port, like half of it this last. And it's taken me three months, so. [00:27:58] Speaker B: Damn. [00:27:59] Speaker A: Anyway, this is my freaking Everest. Before the end of the year, I promise to you all who listens to this podcast, I will not speak about this next year. This is what I'm gonna like, dominate. And then in 2026 we're gonna like move on to other things because my yard is looking really good. Like I planted some jasmine, I planted some lavender. I feel like making progress with making my backyard, my front yard somewhat habitable. Habitable, whatever. [00:28:25] Speaker B: Yeah. So I'm just. [00:28:26] Speaker A: I'm like proud of the exercise of going out there and like doing it and making it nice. But I'm also incredibly frustrated with the fact that I can't get bugs out from my Ivy. So that's my agreements. It's gonna be talked about again. Just get used to it, people. But I am. You know, it's gonna happen and then I'm never gonna have to talk about this stuff ever again. [00:28:47] Speaker B: No, you can always talk about it. It's just funny. Your hair's cracking me up. You're just such an outdoor or like outside gardener girly now at this point. So I'm trying. [00:28:58] Speaker A: I feel like the cottagecore vibe is coming together with my old ass house, so. [00:29:02] Speaker B: Hell yeah. Surely very exciting. I'm just gonna be grateful for scissors folk fest for. For it being fall. For slowing down a little bit. I'm very grateful just for like cozy nights and not the darkness because that literally makes me so depressed. [00:29:21] Speaker A: But dark in the morning when we've been getting up too. [00:29:24] Speaker B: I know. I hate that. But it's okay. We're gonna make it. We're gonna survive. But I'm mostly just grateful for Lindsay and her friendship and her and Kevin getting married this weekend and. And throwing us a great big party. Having us a party. You know what I mean? So yeah, it's gonna be great. Yeah, I'm very excited for them and they're just. They're just on their little way, so. Yeah, it's gonna be a great weekend. Wish us all luck on setup and all the things and that everything goes smoothly. I think it will. There's gonna be lots of people there to help, so. Yeah. And it's like a squish takeover of the campground. Cuz we're all in campsite, so it's gonna be so fun. Everyone's texting about like the number that they're in. And so, yeah, everyone will get there to and just. It will, it will start, it will begin. So, yeah, I'm very stoked. [00:30:15] Speaker A: But wedding Kevin and Linds, it's so exciting. [00:30:18] Speaker B: Yeah. And here we go. October, baby. It's just like, how did we get here? How did 2025 be so terrible? And we're already here, so, yeah, 2026 looking for you. [00:30:30] Speaker A: Yeah, we're like 75 in, right? Or 70% into the 2025. And it's still, it's on. It's up there for me, like, for being one of the worst years I've had in the last 10 year period. Because 2025 is brutal. But 2026, you know, I'm honestly not looking forward to anything until like 2028 because everything else is just garbage. But yeah, we're gonna get through it and we're gonna like, just do what I can to make myself a better person and make my house a better place and own and not be, you know. Our main grievance is that people aren't self aware. [00:31:01] Speaker B: So I'm gonna work on that and. [00:31:03] Speaker A: Try to like, you know, lean into new habits. So change the perspective. [00:31:09] Speaker B: Okay. That's awesome. Okay, well, I'm glad we got on together and glad that it was super. Yeah. [00:31:18] Speaker A: Just quick little updates. [00:31:19] Speaker B: Those are all our updates, everybody. Yep. And, oh, I just got my hair done. You can't really tell in this lighting, but it's darker. I'm not so blonde anymore. I'm going for that fall. Your hair's like. Here, let me show you. Take it. [00:31:35] Speaker A: There, you see, that's nice. [00:31:38] Speaker B: Well, it still looks good. [00:31:41] Speaker A: Like cut. [00:31:42] Speaker B: But anyways, clean cut. She didn't even cut it. This is still the same original cut from when I cut it really short. I kind of look like a monkey right now. Anyways, we love you all so much. Thanks for being candid with us. [00:31:54] Speaker A: Thanks for being candidate. Bye. Bye. That's all for today's episode.
