[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:15] Speaker B: Welcome. What was that? [00:00:20] Speaker A: Dropped my airpod. I dropped my Airpod. [00:00:23] Speaker B: Welcome. [00:00:23] Speaker A: Welcome to Candidly. [00:00:25] Speaker B: Candidly. This is Kelly. [00:00:31] Speaker A: This is K. Fler. Can I just, like, right off the bat here, I have to apologize to everyone because last Wednesday we didn't have an episode. And, like, clearly everybody can tell my voice is awful. And I keep thinking about that Friends episode where Phoebe sings and she has, like, a cold and she's like, so. Sticky shoes. Sticky shoes. [00:00:56] Speaker B: She, like, thinks that she sounds. That's the best part. [00:01:01] Speaker A: She's like, I sound so sexy. And then she starts coughing. Anyway, so apologies to the listener. My voice. This is K. Fler. Is terrible. I've been dealing with this, like, horrendous sickness, but. And, like, last week we didn't record, and I'm just gonna fall on that. That was totally my fault. But, yeah, welcome to Candidly. This is so exciting. [00:01:28] Speaker B: It was Vinnie's birthday. Our, like, number one guest of the pod. It was Vincent's birthday and he texted me. He was like, not even an episode of my birthday. And I was like, oh, my gosh, we're the actual worst. And so happy, happy, happy birthday to Ben. And also, it was our brother's happy birthday as well. Not that he lives happy, but, yeah, we missed a lot of birthdays last week, so I apologize in advance. May is just full of birthdays. Holy moly. [00:01:59] Speaker A: Literally. [00:01:59] Speaker B: So sorry, Vinny. We officially are giving you a birthday shout out this week. Sorry, we're a little belated. But we love you so much. Yeah, can't wait to see. [00:02:09] Speaker A: Ben wants to, like, text me and let me know what's wrong with my mouth or my throat. So I went to the doctor, right? Like, we came back from Strawberry. We're going to talk about all the updates and stuff. [00:02:21] Speaker B: Let's back up. First, though, everyone at Strawberry was sick. Everyone was, like, ill. And I mean, it seemed like it happened like, the weekend before. Everyone from, like, Yosemite area, like, went to the same event, and it seemed like everyone got this, like, cold from whatever event that was. And then they all just, like, brought it to Strawberry. Thankfully, Matt and I came out unscathed, but, like, Kevler did not. [00:02:45] Speaker A: So anyways, dying. [00:02:47] Speaker B: Fast forward. [00:02:48] Speaker A: Kept thinking that I was like, karma, because last year I brought Covid and, like, I got everybody at camp sick when we were in Strawberry. So I was like, oh, maybe this is karma. Like, you and Matt didn't get sick, but I got sick and I thought, like, I was going to die because my tonsils were swollen. As hell, bro. Oh, my God. [00:03:06] Speaker B: But they couldn't tell you what you had Strawberry? [00:03:10] Speaker A: No, they just did a quick strep test because I thought for sure it was strep throat or something, and that came back negative. So then the doctor or, like, the PA Guy who had the most beautiful blue eyes, like, dark, like, gray, stormy [00:03:25] Speaker B: blue eyes, he was wearing a mask. [00:03:29] Speaker A: The one in Bend. The one there, like. No, there's a lot of Kevin's. [00:03:33] Speaker B: Oh. Oh, okay. [00:03:34] Speaker A: I don't know. It was called bio something. Anyway, not that he's a listener to the podcast, but if he is, shout out to your beautiful eyes. But. So he came in and he was like, baby, you have, like, strep throat or let me feel your lymph nodes or whatever. And then at the end of it, he was like, your strep test came back negative, so we think it's mono. And I'm like, okay, but how the hell do you get mono without making out with people? Because, like, I'm not out there just, like, swap and spit with people at Strawberry, so I don't know, but I've [00:04:07] Speaker B: never had mono in my life. [00:04:08] Speaker A: Is that. [00:04:10] Speaker B: There's no test for mono? [00:04:12] Speaker A: There's no treatment? [00:04:14] Speaker B: No. [00:04:14] Speaker A: I mean, there probably was, but, like, not that he could do. It was a. It's a blood test that they have to do for mono, so. And I was just like, it's fine, because there's no treatment for it either. [00:04:25] Speaker B: It's viral. [00:04:26] Speaker A: So if I. If I had gotten on, like, an antibiotics pack or something, that was kind of my hope because that'll just knock it out, you know? [00:04:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Instead, I have to sit with this. True. Yeah. You've been sick for a minute now. [00:04:40] Speaker A: I know it all's terrible because, like, [00:04:43] Speaker B: I think it was, like, Monday. [00:04:45] Speaker A: Have you had mono before? [00:04:47] Speaker B: No, I don't think so. Unless I, like, just didn't know. I was pretty sick after. The only time I can remember, like, being, like, so sick that I. Yeah. Just, like, didn't want to do a single thing because usually I can, like, push through, and I'm just like, oh, whatever. But I was so sick after I got back from Australia. I literally slept for, like, 24 whole hours. My mom said she just, like, checked on me every once in a while. I wonder if she even remembers that. But, yeah, she was like, I was just, like, seeing if you were breathing because, like, you literally didn't even, like, get up to pee or, like, do anything. And I was. I just, like, ran myself to the ground. I think for that one. But anyways, no, I don't think I've ever had it, so I'm really sorry. Do you just feel like, exhausted? Is that like one of the main symptoms? That's what I remember from. [00:05:32] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like le. Yeah, lethargy or being very tired all the time. It was really hard to swallow and like, drink water and I've been doing salt gargling for like the last five. Cuz we came back on Monday, we went to Mug Club, and then like, I was in. Yeah. So, okay, we're gonna like, scratch up the timeline here, but just to go over this. We got back from Strawberry on Monday, we went to Mug Club, and then the next day I started feeling really scratchy. Like I had asked you and Matt. [00:06:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:10] Speaker A: When we were driving back, like, oh, is your throat hurting? Like, how are you feeling? And then like Tuesday, it was full blown. It felt like my tonsils were like there was just like something swollen. Like I couldn't breathe very well. I couldn't swallow very well. And then that lasted until I came home on Sunday. So from Tuesday to Sunday, I was like, out for the count. I was watching. I was at Kevin and Lindsay's and like, me and Yachty, which, thank God, Yachty's like the sweetest, easiest dog. But like, I just felt bad that I couldn't, like, take him out and like, I took him to the park on Saturday when I could finally, like, breathe a little bit. But I just did his, like, walk in the morning and walk at night. And I really wanted to like, like go and hike up Pilot Butte. I wanted to like, go and see. Yeah, a bunch of other things in town. And I just. I had to cancel on people. And like, I wanted to go see Renata. And I was like, I would feel awful if your child, your brand new baby, like, and got this from me. So that's not gonna like, see for the best. So it just sucks that. [00:07:14] Speaker B: I know. [00:07:15] Speaker A: It just sucked that, like, I couldn't. I wanted to go and enjoy my vacation and I was just stuck watching TV and reading and sleeping. I slept so much. Yeah, I just like, took a bunch of medication and slept on the couch. Anyway, it's not that exciting, but it's my voice. Hopefully it'll come back eventually. [00:07:33] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm so sorry. [00:07:35] Speaker A: But tell the people about Strawberry because everybody at Strawberry was feeling a little tired, I'd say. [00:07:42] Speaker B: Yeah, it was interesting because a couple people couldn't come like, last minute. Like Nalani couldn't come last minute. She texted because she was, like, preparing for a job interview, so that was really sad. And then Saul couldn't come last minute because he got sent on a fire, and so that was really big bummer. And then mom wasn't there, just dealing with some family stuff. And so we really felt the whole of, like, mom not being there. And so, yeah, it felt like it. We were, like, starting off on, like, kind of a weird foot a little bit just because, like, our main, like, crew people, like, weren't gonna be there. But we still made the best of it, I think mat a great time. It was Matt's first strawberry, so that was really cool. And we took the RV down there. So the three of us road tripped down. And yeah, it was actually, like. I mean, I didn't drive, so I can't really speak to it, but I feel like it was a really chill drive, like, both ways. Matt ended up getting roped into some work stuff, which was really annoying. We ended up, like, getting. Well, I ended up getting mad at him about that stuff because it was just really hard. Like, he was working more than not when he, like, took the PTO and everything, and, like, they were supp let him have time off, but they didn't. And that just is annoying. And it's just hard because, like, I don't understand that world because, like, in the government, like, when you take time off, like, you are not responsible for anything. And so it's just really hard for me to understand. So anyway. But yeah, he eventually felt like he could relax on, like, Saturday, which was nice. And so then we. Yeah, the weather was beautiful. It was so freaking hot. Kevler and I were sitting out on Thursday just for literally, like, less than an hour. I want to say K got fried. Like, she had this, like, huge just, like, V and, like, T shirt, like, sunburn. Like, we were outside for no joke. Just, like, sitting in the sun, looking at our phones, just, like, enjoying the heat and the warmth of California because we made it. We left on Wednesday night and made it down to California and stayed the night there. A harvest host there, so it was like a free harvest house. And then we continued on Thursday so we could, like, break up the drive a little bit. And yeah, Keith, I got fried. First day, first hour, first minute of just, like, being outside of the rv. Us, Oregon people were totally not used to the sun. So, yeah, it was like, the first thing that everyone should we see. Oh, it doesn't look that bad. [00:10:05] Speaker A: Literally everybody at camp had to comment on it. Yeah, it looks a little tan, but Everybody at camp had to comment on it. It was a little aggressive, but it was so fun. [00:10:14] Speaker B: It worked out fine. But yeah, we literally were like not prepared for the heat. I feel like I was just like sticky like the whole weekend and that is my nightmare. I mean we were able to shower and stuff, which is. Was really nice. And it was really nice to be able to take like cold showers because, you know, you never really get a hot shower at Strawberry. And then we had the RV as well, so that was nice to like turn on the air, I know, let it cool down and stuff. [00:10:36] Speaker A: But yeah, it wasn't even that hot. I mean it was only like 82 or 85 or something so it wasn't like in the 90s, but there was zero wind. So like I just felt like I was sitting there sweating because it wasn't chilly. There was no wind. Like it was, it was pretty warm. And I did actually shower a lot more. This Strawberry showered like four times, which is unheard of, but it was really wonderful. Yeah, I got to like take a cold shower and then just crawl into bed. It was so great. [00:11:05] Speaker B: Yeah, that's like my dream is just like taking a shower before bed and just like being all cozy and like ready and clean and like. Yeah. Anyway. Yeah, but Strawberry was great shout out to Matt though. [00:11:15] Speaker A: Like his. His RV is gorgeous and it's very comfortable. [00:11:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:20] Speaker A: So I really enjoyed sleeping the sleeping arrangements that we had. So yeah, I just had like shout out to. To Matt with his rv. [00:11:26] Speaker B: Oh yeah, it was great. Yeah. I definitely also like slept. No joke. I had like earplugs in and I slept like 11 hours every night, I swear. Because yeah, I was just like. Yeah. Needed to catch up on sleep like really, really badly. So it was just like a really like chill. We played a lot of games. We had a washers tournament that I think was actually like really so thanks for cafe to organizing that. And she did all of the like family meal planning as well because mom wasn't there too. Yeah, Campton was really great coordinate that we did. [00:11:58] Speaker A: Disco for theme. Oh, everybody have like disco fun. [00:12:03] Speaker B: I was very impressed with everyone's outfits. Like it was, it was a good time. It definitely was like a fun theme. And everyone had like the same pants on which also I thought was so funny. Obviously they're like Amazon pants but they're so cool. So I love that everyone was wearing like the same thing and so cool. Kepler's like infamous. This like pink romper thing that I love. It's so cute. Why is it Infamous because I wanted to wear it for like so many years. Like years and years and years ever since you wore it for your bachelorette party. But anyways, yeah, I just had like a really chill and laid back time. But we also played Harry Potter one day for like no joke, like probably four hours. I don't know if you are more [00:12:45] Speaker A: than that for sure. [00:12:46] Speaker B: We played it for like six or [00:12:47] Speaker A: seven hours was, it was crazy. [00:12:49] Speaker B: It's so fun though and like it's just like really. I mean it's a co op game so like obviously you don't like get mad at each other and stuff. But yeah, it's just so fun because yeah, it's just Harry Potter and you know all the. And you like want to beat Voldemort and stuff. So it's just the best. But anywho, want to see your thoughts on straps? How do you feel? [00:13:10] Speaker A: I feel really good. I feel like it was a relaxing strawberry. There was no drama which was really wonderful and then the music was kind of a bummer. I only saw the one show on Friday night. So yeah, I just like didn't really fall in love with the music. But there were some good, good people that played for whatever. So I don't know, I just, I think more than anything the strawberry was like great to sleep in, not have any drama, just catch up and like have real conversations with people because sometimes there's too many people at camp and you can't really like have one on one convos. So I feel like I to catch up with Denise and catch up with Terry and catch up with Jay and Hillary and there's just a lot of like ladies at camp and I spent a lot of time at camp so it was great. [00:13:59] Speaker B: Wait, do you want to tell everyone how you were teaching them how to line dance? [00:14:04] Speaker A: Oh my God. Okay, this is ridiculous. Just imagine it being like 9 o' clock at night, it's really dark and there's like six ladies including me and we're all trying to like watch a YouTube video and figure out how to line dance. But it's not like the electric slide, it's the boxing dance. Anyway, it was just like one of those surreal moments where there was only girls like all the guys have had been like down at the meadow or they're like walking or waling around or whatever. So it's just like a lot of like really patient, you know, women being like, okay, step one, step two, step three. We're trying to line dance. And I feel like Denise and I and Terry did A really good job about it, and maybe we'll come back to it next year and we'll just, like, show up everybody our cool line dancing or dancing skills. I don't know. [00:14:54] Speaker B: That would be really. [00:14:54] Speaker A: It was hilarious. [00:14:56] Speaker B: Yeah. That's awesome. Anyway, I feel like it was just. Yeah. Definitely didn't spend that much time at the meadow just because we, like, weren't interested in seeing a lot of the band, so that was kind of a bummer. But, yeah, other than that, it was just, like, really nice. [00:15:08] Speaker A: I did hang out with the kids a lot. [00:15:10] Speaker B: Yeah, it was fun to hang out with Evelyn. And. Yeah, actually, like, Liam played a lot of washers, which was awesome. [00:15:18] Speaker A: Totally. [00:15:19] Speaker B: Yeah, we just got a lot of, like, good quality time. And it was nice to hang out with dad, too, because I feel. Feel like he got to hang out with Matt a lot, and they just talked about boy stuff and whatever, and so that was, like, someone else to talk to about all the manly. The manly things. So, yeah, it was just a really wholesome, like, good weekend. And then. Yeah. Wait, was that only last weekend did we talk about Falcon Forage? Anyways, so we went to Falcon Forage, and then we went to Strawberry, and now then last weekend we went to the Metolius, and we went camping on the Metolius for Lila's birthday, which was really lovely. Also, the other thing that's so wild is it's so crazy because it never rains here in Bend, and Kefler was here for four days, and it jumped rain basically, like, the entire time she was here, which is so crazy. [00:16:14] Speaker A: There was a thunderstorm and a lightning [00:16:16] Speaker B: storm, and it, like, rains in Portland all the time. [00:16:19] Speaker A: I was gonna get a little nervous [00:16:20] Speaker B: this, but so bad. Oh, yeah. Did he not get scared in the thunder? [00:16:25] Speaker A: Not at all. [00:16:26] Speaker B: Oh, my God. That's great. [00:16:28] Speaker A: But it was, like, pretty late at night, so at that point, he was, like, pretty pooped. Like, he doesn't. He fell asleep kind of early. But I do. I, like, was. I fell asleep on the couch, and then the thunder woke me up, and then lightning happened, and I was like, oh, my God, what's going on? [00:16:42] Speaker B: Oh, yes. [00:16:43] Speaker A: It was very much like a thunder lighting store. [00:16:46] Speaker B: I was just really a summer. Yeah, totally. I was just really sad that you were, like, living in bed and, like, you. I didn't get to do, like, any of the, like, nightly, like, things with you that I, like, wanted to do or it's like, this is why living in Bend is really fun because, like, we go to here, and then we do this, and then we do that, and, like, whatever. I need. I mean, not to say I'm really happy that you just chilled and, like, were able to try to feel better, but, yeah, I was just like, oh, my God. This is, like, our opportunity to, like, show you how fun Bend is at night, and you just didn't get to do it. [00:17:16] Speaker A: I know. [00:17:17] Speaker B: It's okay. We'll get there. [00:17:18] Speaker A: We're gonna have to do it again. I feel bad because, like, I was gonna go to yoga with Brooke and see Juniper and do all that fun stuff, and I didn't get to do that. I had to cancel. And then I was gonna text Bridget and see if she wanted to, like, go and have drinks downtown, and that didn't happen. [00:17:33] Speaker B: So. [00:17:34] Speaker A: I know we're gonna. I'm gonna have to find another, like, week or something to just spend time in Bend. Hopefully not with, like, my throat swollen, you know? [00:17:43] Speaker B: Totally. I just saw Bridget, actually. It was really good to see her. She ended up coming to Mud Club. Yeah. And so it was a really fun mug club. It was, like, sick because, yeah, Max and Cat were there, and Max and Bridget came, and. Yeah, just, like, the entire Mud Club crew was there, so it was, like, a really fun one to be at. And I went to. I'm trying to get back on, like, working out routinely because I just, like, haven't seen. It's so hard. Like, I just want to hang out with Matt and do fun things and not work out, and so I've been really off my game. So anyways, Natalie and I have been trying to keep each other. Each other accountable, and so we've been going and doing workouts after work, and, like, walks are lovely. Walks are nice, but I feel like I just need something in addition to walks because, like, I'm just feeling, like, really weak these days. So we are holding each other accountable. [00:18:34] Speaker A: Some weights. [00:18:36] Speaker B: Yeah. So we did some stair stepping today, and then we went swimming, actually, which is so hard. I love it. It was a lot better than I was anticipating because I haven't swam in a really long time. But. Yeah. So we're gonna just be switching it up a little bit and definitely still want to do yoga. [00:18:54] Speaker A: Yeah. Because Party Barge is in, like, a month and a week or something. [00:18:57] Speaker B: Don't remind me. [00:18:58] Speaker A: That's, like, what my. I'm counting because I. Yeah. I'm not really ready for it, but that's, like, my countdown, because this last week, I didn't do a whole lot of working out, which sucks. But now I'm, like, okay, I'm ready to get back into it. I want to get my kettlebell out and just, like, get into getting fit [00:19:16] Speaker B: and ready for party march. [00:19:18] Speaker A: Have you decided what the theme is gonna be? [00:19:21] Speaker B: No. Do you want to come up with one? Actually, in our girls chat, someone was asking for a tutu today. And she's like, actually, it's for a bachelorette party, but she was saying this is a really fun theme. If anyone wants to steal it, it's tatas and tut. Titties and tutus or something, which I [00:19:35] Speaker A: think is so funny. I don't really know what the titties. How do you. Right. [00:19:41] Speaker B: I'm assuming you're just, like. That's like, boys wearing, like, no shirts. I don't know. Is it, like, shirts and skins kind of? [00:19:49] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:19:50] Speaker B: Who knows? But I think tutus would be a fun one, but because they can, like, kind of get wet and stuff, and, like, no big deal. But that was just a suggestion. I do think it's really silly and, like, fun, but I'm down for whatever because you kind of, like, don't really want to wear that many clothes, so it kind of has to be something like, like, not risque, but you know what I mean, where it's just, like, less is more. More, like, accessories than, like, actual clothes, I guess. I don't know. [00:20:13] Speaker A: Correct. Because everybody's gonna be in swimsuits for, like, nine hours. Also, my pink jacket came in. Okay. So when I was shopping for, like, this disco theme for Strawberry, and I got these really cool rainbow bell bottoms. They look very fun, and they're families on their, like, snakeskin but, like, rainbow state skin. And then I had this, like, really neon pink bomber that I bought from Amazon, and it didn't come in on time, so I'm wondering if we can do. Maybe I can wear it for Party Barge for, like, a little bit. But it came in, and it looks so cool. It's like. Yeah, Electric pink. It's very fun. Cool. [00:20:47] Speaker B: Okay, well, think of a theme that will go with it. That. Yeah, I'm totally down. I always love theme suggestions, so come up with one. Yeah, I'll definitely text the group, but, [00:20:58] Speaker A: yeah, there's, like, the Discord channel, right? [00:21:01] Speaker B: Yeah, not Discord. Yeah, the signal. One signal. Currently, we only have 13 people that have confirmed, which is totally fine, totally valid. And so we still have some room available, but I was gonna wait a little bit longer until, like, opening it up to, like, beyond the light group that we currently have, you know, because I Want to, like, make sure that people who have done it in the past, like, are able to do it again. So, anyways, but in, like, maybe two more weeks or something, I'll open it up to some more folks to see if anyone wants to come. But Matt right now is really on, like, a boat kick. And so I was like, what if we just, like, rent? You rented a boat? [00:21:39] Speaker A: He seemed to drink. [00:21:40] Speaker B: A party barge. I know. He really does, but I'm really against it, only because I'm like, we have so many other things that we should be spending money on. And not to mention the fact that, like, that will be all consuming of, like. Like, he's like, what if we just get, like, a fixer upper? I'm like, when are we gonna fix it up? Whose time? What time? When, Where? Like, how? When will that happen? We don't have that time. So I'm like, not against a fixer upper. It's just that it's like, that will be all consuming, and we don't have time to have another project at this time. So anyways, where would you put the [00:22:14] Speaker A: boat you don't have? [00:22:17] Speaker B: And he was like, oh, no, that's like. Like a non. That's like a non question. I'll figure that out. And I'm like, it's a non issue. Yeah. [00:22:24] Speaker A: Such a boat guy. I love it. [00:22:26] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, that was his plan all along when he got the rv, because he got a big enough RV that he could tow it. And so I knew that it was coming. It's just that I wasn't sure that it was actually gonna happen, like, this summer. So, yeah, we're working on it. Yeah. But I'm asking him to just, like, rent a boat to like, figure out what he wants, what we want, what works works, and all that stuff. But, yeah, he's like, if I. By the time I, like, rent all these boats that I want to try, it's like the same amount of money as just buying, like, a little shitty dinger bow. And I'm like, okay, so anyways, we'll see next time you talk to us. I have a boat or something anyway. But I'm very excited for how people [00:23:06] Speaker A: say, you don't need a boat. You just need friends with the boat. [00:23:09] Speaker B: And I'm like, exactly. [00:23:10] Speaker A: They should definitely, definitely be the friends that I have with that have a boat. [00:23:13] Speaker B: That's what Bridget said today, too. [00:23:15] Speaker A: You could be my friend. [00:23:16] Speaker B: She's like, I'm so ready for you guys to have a boat. And I was like, okay, Bridget No, [00:23:21] Speaker A: I'm so ready for you. That's hilarious. Oh, my God. [00:23:26] Speaker B: But anyways, yeah, we'll see what happens. But thankfully, Kefler was able to book us some campsites, too, for after Party Barge, so we'll actually get, like, a little bit of a chill time after, which I'm really excited about as well. So, yeah, we're looking forward to that. But, yeah, next things coming up are next weekend is Jordy and Connor sweating, and then the weekend after that, we're going to Saw 2, and we're doing a little bit of an extended trip for that, so I'm stoked about that. Just, like, have a little bit of time off work because work is exhausting right now, but it also is not taking up all my mental space right now, which is really great. I don't know how I got there today, but, yeah, I, like, didn't give a today, and it was great, and it felt really nice also. Can I just talk about. Wait. The only thing that's, like, keeping me sane low key, though, is I'm listening to Lena Denham's memoir. Have you heard of it? It's called her new book. Yeah, she was called Homesick, Lovesick, Something Sick Fame Sick is what it's called. It is actually so good. But, like, Loki. If I was any of the people in that book, I would be pissed that she was, like, saying that kind of stuff. I feel like, okay, because she writes [00:24:39] Speaker A: about Adam Driver, right? [00:24:40] Speaker B: Yeah. And how big of a douche he kind of is. And. And that's the thing. It's, like, so hard because I was asking one of my co workers today because I was like, is a memoir just, like, based off of your thoughts? Like, it's not an autobiography. Right? So, like, it doesn't have to be based off of, like, factual events. So I'm like, is a memoir her calling in a memoir? Does that mean that it's kind of like she's, like, fluffed it up a little bit, you know, and kind of made, like, giving it more drama, because that's just how she is. Like, if you know her and you watch Girls and, like, you know her story, like, she is just kind of dramatic, but also, like, people just, like, put her in that light for so long. So, like, is she actually dramatic? I don't know. Because she was, like, so sick for, like, so long that she, like, kind of was seeming dramatic, I think, too. Anyways, it is really fascinating and just, like, her talking about each of the characters and, like, how she got there and, like, yeah. All of her illnesses and stuff. And it is really good. Also, I'm listening to it on Spotify and she is the. She's like reading it herself. And so I feel like that just like, adds to it, that it's just like, so good because it's like her and her own voice and all the things she's saying. You're just like, oh, my God, I could totally picture you saying that. You know what I mean? But anyways, just side note, highly recommend. I do really like it. One of my other office mates was, like, reading, actually reading the book and she was saying she's like. She is so fascinating. Like, she is a wild human being. And I'm like, like, oh, yeah, like, for sure. You just know, like, I've just followed her for a while. So, like, I know. Do you follow her on Tick Tock? Actually, sure. [00:26:15] Speaker A: I don't think I follow her on Tick Tock. No. [00:26:18] Speaker B: But like, I watched all of Girls. [00:26:21] Speaker A: I feel like I've been paying attention to her for a while. She's funny, but she's also like, a little. A little out there. You know, she's just a little bit out, you know, like, just a little out there sometimes. But I think she's hilarious and I really enjoy, like, her per. Like, how do I say this? Her perspective or like her thought process, how she, like, maybe doesn't go. She kind of goes against the grain a little bit. I. I really appreciate that because, yeah, you know, it's really easy for women of a certain age. You know, she's our age. Right. She's a millennial. Right. [00:27:00] Speaker B: Yeah. She's like their same exact age. Sorry, Myelin, would you like to say something? Yeah. Thing. Because you are being. [00:27:06] Speaker A: I know. She's just like, making out with your microphone. [00:27:08] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. Sorry. If everyone. [00:27:10] Speaker A: Hi. [00:27:10] Speaker B: My little. Her little sniffles in the microphone. She is being really right now. So I'm gonna have to go pretty soon, otherwise she's just gonna keep talking and being really. [00:27:21] Speaker A: Okay, let's. [00:27:21] Speaker B: But yeah, let's do gratitudes and grievances [00:27:25] Speaker A: and we'll wrap it up and make it a really short episode since. Because clearly my voice is, you know, just not really. [00:27:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:31] Speaker A: For prime time. [00:27:32] Speaker B: Thank you for sticking with us. We should get back on track and we're really excited. We actually have another Legends episode that Keefler has created or curated or whatever. The worst maybe. And so we're gonna get to that. [00:27:44] Speaker A: Curator is a cool word. [00:27:46] Speaker B: A S, A P. But yeah, sorry, we had to take a Little break. It was just like, so much going on and so much back. [00:27:52] Speaker A: I feel like a lot of people. Yeah. And this always happens, right? Like, May June is always really busy. So all of our listeners know life is lifing and just be a little patient with us and then we'll get back at it. But let's start with grievances. I'm going to go first because my grievance is like, the thing that we've been talking about this whole episode. I don't know what the hell happened to my tonsils, but do you have your tonsils removed? Who actually has their tonsils, like, tonsils removed? [00:28:20] Speaker B: I wish. I. Whenever I got sick, my tonsils would, like, flare up and they had still do. They're like, they get huge to where I totally should have gotten them taken out. But, like, you're not allowed to as an adult anymore. Did you know that? [00:28:32] Speaker A: I know. If any of our listeners don't have their tonsils, like, at what age did you get your tonsils removed and for what reason? Like, I'm genuinely curious. But yeah, my grievance is just my, like, throat and being annoyed about whatever I picked up. [00:28:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:51] Speaker A: And it ruining my vacation. [00:28:52] Speaker B: But that's okay. [00:28:53] Speaker A: We'll figure it out. [00:28:55] Speaker B: Yeah. It's just taking so long for you to get better. [00:28:57] Speaker A: I know, because a cold is only like a few days. But this has been since two Monday. And then like, it's been a whole seven days. Oh, God. [00:29:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:29:07] Speaker A: Anyway, that's my grievance. What's your grievance? [00:29:10] Speaker B: My grievance is just. Oh, good question. Actually, I'm feeling actually pretty positive today, which is not like, me in any way, shape or form, but. Oh, I know my grievances. I just got a voicemail from my knee doctor. I think I might have told you guys that I was like, following up with my D doctor because they, like, had charged me for my injection that I got last June and they didn't process it until December and sent me a letter that they weren't going to approve it or whatever. And so I'm paying for that. Whatever. I like, signed up for, like, a monthly plan because I was like, fighting with my insurance about it and I like, made them, like, send me a justification for, like, why they wouldn't approve it and all this, this stuff. And so I just signed up for, like, so I wouldn't get in Trouble by St. Charles. I just signed up for, like, the lowest amount of money I could possibly pay them every month type situation until I, like, end Finishing or like try to fight with my insurance about it. Anyways, all that to say is that I found out all of this stuff in December and then in like March, my knee was hurting really bad because I was going to yoga a lot. It's like kind of intense, like vinyasa level 2 yoga, whatever. Anyway, so I was going to yoga a lot and I was just like doing child's pose a lot and whatever. And so I was like, oh my gosh, my. My knee is hurting so bad. So I like called in March to make an appointment to get a knee injection, the one that they actually would approve this time. And they like said they were like asking insurance for approval or whatever that has been since March. They have not followed up or made me an appointment or what, got the approval or whatever. Nothing. So I like called them today because I was like, hello, it's so hard. I've already called them one other time to schedule an appointment and they were like, we're waiting on the authorization and I definitely don't want to go through with it again without the authorization because we got into the situation that I'm in now of like owing $1500 or a injection when. Because insurance is a scam. Anyways, all that to be said is I'm just irritated. St. Charles sucks. We. We all know that. But I'm irritated by St. Charles, by. You can't even follow up once you get the authorization back. You can't even call me to schedule an appointment. Like that's so it. So anyways, I'm just dealing with that. I'm like, I called them multiple times. It's been multiple months now and I still haven't got any injection. So. Ma', am, one minute. Anyway, so yeah, go on. To your gratitude. [00:31:34] Speaker A: I'm grateful. Like, Strawberry was so fun. I know that it was kind of like cool, calm and collected and there wasn't a ton of drama. But it was just so wonderful to see all the little kids and like, you know, see all the people that I haven't. I only get to see them once a year, so. And they like a lot of them didn't come to the same work weekend. So this was just the one time a year that we got to see them. So yeah, it was really, really wonderful. So I just want to be a little grateful for my little Strawberry family. And yeah, I missed a lot of people because we didn't have as many people. But you know, it was still really nice to just like get one on one combos and chat with people. [00:32:10] Speaker B: So it was really nice. [00:32:11] Speaker A: I love strawberry every year. That's my gratitude. [00:32:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:32:15] Speaker A: I mean, I want to be a little grateful for Yachty Dog, too, because Yachty Dog was so sweet last week, and he just got to, like, hang out with me. Only barked at me, like, twice. And that's just because I was, you know, dying on the couch. He was just checking on me. But, yeah, Yachty Dog was so fun. I love him. [00:32:33] Speaker B: Cute. That's great. Yeah. I want to share the sentiment, Obviously, I love Yadidog, but share the sentiment for strawberry famine and just, like, it was really nice to hang out with them and chill and have a nice little slow weekend. But also, I'm just grateful for you for being our roomie and for sharing your space with us and wanting to kill Matt and I after spending so many weekends together. Like, we did have a lot of weekends together, so just. Yeah, thanks for being the best roommate and just, like, letting us fight in front of you and, you know, all the good stuff and. Yeah, best roomy. [00:33:09] Speaker A: Not at all. [00:33:10] Speaker B: I already knew that, but Spencer was [00:33:12] Speaker A: like, if that's fighting, I don't. It was, like, not. It was not fighting at all. Don't. Don't throw that out in the universe. It was very cute. [00:33:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Anyways, grateful for you. [00:33:23] Speaker A: All right, well, thanks for being candid, and I'm very grateful for you, too. Wish me luck, everybody, that I don't die before, you know, we were born. [00:33:32] Speaker B: Get better soon, please. [00:33:34] Speaker A: Hopefully, my throat will just come back by candid.
