[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:18] Speaker B: Oh my God. That was great. [00:00:20] Speaker A: I'm so. [00:00:20] Speaker B: One of these days. [00:00:21] Speaker A: Yeah, it was great. Good job, claps. Love it for everybody. [00:00:24] Speaker B: Good job. Golf class. Golf class. Love everybody. How's it going? This is Kelly. [00:00:29] Speaker A: Good. This is K Fler. Thank you for doing that. I feel like every time I. We're bad at introducing ourselves. So. Great. Welcome to candidly everyone. [00:00:39] Speaker B: The ones who know really know you know. [00:00:42] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. The ones who know really know you know. So let's talk about it. Yeah, life is good. Doing my commute every day at my new job has been wonderful. I'm officially like a month and a couple of weeks and I'm super stressed because I have to do this stupid test again at the end of July and it's contract law, people. It's like making my eyeballs want to bleed. But it's great. [00:01:08] Speaker B: Yeah, you're great. [00:01:11] Speaker A: Good. [00:01:12] Speaker B: I'm also in the same boat. Obviously not studying at all. I couldn't use my brain for a single thing besides work things these days. But no, work is working right now. I don't know. I am. I was just telling Kate the full update. [00:01:29] Speaker A: I don't know if I want to [00:01:30] Speaker B: talk about it on the pod because all I'm gonna say is like expletives. So maybe she is crazy. [00:01:36] Speaker A: Yo. [00:01:38] Speaker B: And I know it's like so annoying because. Or maybe it seems annoying because I know I've been saying that for the last year and a half. Exactly. But it just keeps getting worse, folks. It's not getting any better. [00:01:51] Speaker A: So it's possible it could be getting worse. Yes. [00:01:54] Speaker B: Yeah, that's the thing. So I am really freaking out at this point. I don't what to do. I feel like I need a life pivot. But it's also like, I don't know, I feel like I'm being dramatic but at the same time I'm not because like again, it's not going to get any better. So I don't know what I'm going to do with my life. But I can't really think about that right now because we have the party barge coming up. But I honestly just gotta have to make it to Friday because this week is weekend. We had a very special sweet baby boy's birthday yesterday. My guy, Wesley, he's three years old, which is so crazy because. Yeah, I just remember his baby shower and when he was born and meal trained for him and everything. It's just so crazy. And he's just my favoriteist little guy. I love him so much and yeah, so we got to celebrate him yesterday, and it was so warm and lovely and just like, perfect July day at the river. And then, yeah, we have cookbook club tomorrow. And then Thursday came a fanature coming in, and, yeah, Friday's Party Barge. So we are. I have been texting up a storm because it's just, like, so many logistics, and I wish that I would just could rely on people to just do things, but that is not the case. That is fine. I mean, I just. I feel like I need to, like, explain things because if it's people's first time, then it's just like, a lot. And, like, it's a. I don't want them to have a bad time. So anyways, we're dealing. We're running into that, like, having new people on the boat, which is lovely, but also just people backing out at the last second. Slash, people who just, like, confirm that they're coming, but then have never, like, actually followed through or let me know that they're actually coming. And so I'm a little stressed about those people and just, like, filling the boat, making sure all that's good. So I feel like every year, the week before Party Barge, I'm like, I'm never doing this again. And then I get on Party Barge, and I was like, this is my favorite day of the entire year. So I think that's where we're at right now. So just wait until Saturday and I'll still say it's my favorite day of the entire year. So. Yeah. And then we're gonna camp afterward, which is awesome. And yeah, we'll figure it out. But anywho, I am very excited for you guys to get here. Another fun little tidbit is Mateo, when Keith was here last time, he had redone the whole shower situation because it was just, like, old and the. Our tenant, like, our roommate moved out. And so it was just like, the perfect opportunity to, like, redo the shower and everything. And then somehow it turned into a full bathroom remodel. And so we are mid bathroom remodel at the moment. And. But hopefully it will be done by the time Keith and Andrew get here on Thursday. So fingers crossed. The last thing that needs to get done is the floor. So no big deal. Um, but, yeah, anyhow, so they'll have, like, a brand new bathroom hopefully by the time they get here. Yeah. [00:04:57] Speaker A: That is so cool. I'm always so impressed. I feel like he's always doing something. It's just impressive. [00:05:02] Speaker B: Yeah, we had a big discussion. [00:05:03] Speaker A: I'm excited to see it. [00:05:05] Speaker B: More projects after this. Mama needs a break from projects. And the, like, dust and. I don't know. I mean, also just, like, takes up so much of his brain power. And it's. Yeah. Like, I feel bad because, like, I can't really help with any of it. I can do, like, the Lowe's runs and, like, that kind of stuff, but, like, I can't help too much, so I just feel guilty of just chilling or I take care of the dog and I feed us. So there you go. That's something. [00:05:33] Speaker A: You're doing stuff. Yeah. Supportive, you know? Yeah, that makes sense. Support. I feel you, though. Like, yeah, that's also important. That's my job. I was also. I was always like, a gopher as a kid. Did your dad ever call you that, like, when he was, like, working in the shop or whatever? [00:05:50] Speaker B: No. That's funny. [00:05:52] Speaker A: I was definitely a gopher kid. Like, go get the hammer. Go get the level. Go get the PVC pipe. Not that one. The other one over there. You're doing it wrong. Go away. Yeah, that was my childhood, anyway. Yeah. Endlessly impressed. I'm so excited to see the bathroom. I know that he's been working really hard on it, so. Yeah. And we're excited. I love coming to Bend and Party Barge. I'm so excited. Slash nervous. This has got to be like, redemption. I'm on my redemption tour. Okay. [00:06:21] Speaker B: So I'm really worried about what happened last year when no one remembers because everyone was in the same boat. [00:06:28] Speaker A: Great. We'll never talk about it again. So. Yeah, I have a playlist that I've got going. I've got all of my stuff that I'm going to bring for the boat, which is not a lot because I'm not bringing my paddle board. Not going to be that person. Um, but maybe I'll bring it for the next day. I don't know. And we're excited to camp. This is officially our first time camping together this year, which is sad to say. [00:06:52] Speaker B: I know. [00:06:53] Speaker A: So, yeah, I'm just jazzed. And Lake Billy Chinook is very fun, very cute. But while we're talking lake day, do we want to just, like, go through? We had a. A cute little idea to do a bingo card to see what we could get into. Do you have a couple of things that you want to share with us? [00:07:11] Speaker B: I wrote down five things. We don't have to do all of them, but these are all things that I hope. Like, I don't know. I kind of. They're all a little ominous, but, like, I don't mean it to be that way. It's just like trends that I've noticed throughout the years. So I am on my bingo card. I hope that we can check it off the box is that everyone is on the boat and we're leaving by like 9:15, 9:30. Because we get the boat at 9 and we can officially get on the boat anytime before nine. But do we do that? Never, not one single time have we left the dock before 9:15, 9:30. So that is like, my only hope is that we're like kind of in motion by 9:30 leaving the port. It sounds really early to be on a boat, but it's hot as balls down there. So, like, even at 9:30am you can get in the water. So, yeah, that is my number one bingo card. That's like gonna be my center square. Is everyone that's on the boat and signed in and all their is on the boat and we're able to leave the dock. So. [00:08:11] Speaker A: Okay. I don't know. Restaurant going on high. That is my. I promise I will sign the document right after this. I haven't done it yet. You're so bad about it. [00:08:24] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Don't even tell me that. I looked, okay, and there had been like six people that signed it, and I was like, I'm gonna lose it. These motherfuckers. [00:08:31] Speaker A: All the people that have done the [00:08:32] Speaker B: boat before were the ones that haven't signed it too, so. [00:08:35] Speaker A: Oh, my God. Damn it. Okay, cool. Well, it's happening today. [00:08:39] Speaker B: Okay. [00:08:39] Speaker A: I feel really called out right now. [00:08:40] Speaker B: Okay, I'm going to share. [00:08:44] Speaker A: I'm going to share mine. Wow. Mine just feels so inconsequential next to that, like, big, passionate speech. [00:08:51] Speaker B: I'm so sorry. Okay. [00:08:55] Speaker A: I want to see, like, it's definitely going to happen. I don't. I know their theme isn't necessarily like mermaids, but I definitely see us all being on in the water with, like, the mermaid song singing, like, everybody's into it. So I feel like that's gonna happen because sometimes when we all get together, Disney comes out in the weirdest ways. Like the mermaid song when we're on a boat. So that's my first one. [00:09:20] Speaker B: Okay, mine. [00:09:21] Speaker A: I might be reaching on that one, but fair enough. [00:09:23] Speaker B: No, if you're in charge of the playlist, I mean, I think Max will. Max is usually DJ for a lot of it, but he loves when people take over. So you should put your playlist on too. But my next one, option B, just like, killer playlist. And it sounds like it would be easy, but, like, eight hours of a playlist is quite a feat, so. And there's, like, some vibes where you, like, go in and out of, like, meeting, like, hype up music or, like, chill, like, play music, you know? So, like, it's definitely hard to do a killer playlist for eight straight hours. So. And that is my number two on my bingo card, for sure. [00:09:57] Speaker A: So I kind of like throwing some novelty. [00:10:00] Speaker B: Right. [00:10:00] Speaker A: People want to have, like, the Macarena or, like, the Little mermaid song. Like I literally just said. For sure, sure. But anyway. Okay. My next one. I'm really hoping that this is a thing. I don't know if it's gonna happen. I hope you know this is me just, like, reaching for the stars. I want to see a Disco Kitty dance party. I want to see all their, like, little kitty things and, like, up at the top or whatever. They're just, like, having a little dance party midday. Sounds like Chef's Kiss. It's such a cute little vibe they've got going on. Yeah. [00:10:29] Speaker B: I feel like we should preface that statement with the fact that the theme for the party barge is disco. But, like, disco kitty is very much encouraged and appreciated because, yeah, Disco Kitties has been the theme for this entire year. It was Jordan's bachelorette theme. It was Lexing O'Reilly's birthday theme. It's just like an overarching disco year. So very excited about the disco theme. So, yeah, definitely gonna have. We love that dance party. I love. Yeah, Good idea. Okay, so I. Everyone has been asking me about this in particular because there was, like, an article, like, about a month ago that, like, Billy Chinook was, like, had harmful algae blooms, and they did walk that back pretty quickly after it was released. But I'm just hoping for no algae blooms. Nothing too crazy. It did say that it's, like, harmful for dogs and, like, small children. It's not typically harmful for adults, but, like, I'm just, you know, we're gonna wish away all that algae and just, you know, it's a really slow water year, so we're just hoping for the best. That's why we have the party Barge mid July now, because we used to have it in August, and the algae was so gnarly by then. So just fingers crossed, no algae. Sorry, I feel like mine are negative. I apologize. [00:11:48] Speaker A: No, I. It's okay. I can bring in bringing all the sunshine these days. It's all right. Okay. My next one's gonna be I want a, like, floating island tube Tube city. You know how, like, we all just, like, hook up with one another, and it's like this massive pile of, like, 10 to 15 people, and we're all just, like, floating and drinking our drinks. Yeah. So I put it on as, like, tube city. [00:12:13] Speaker B: Oh, my God, I love it so much. Yeah, the tubes are the best part. Just, like, stopping, booking up, like, an area and, like, a cove or something and just, like, chilling in the water and everyone being silly in the water and going down the slide. Oh, by the way, our party barge has a slide, if you didn't know. [00:12:28] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:12:28] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:12:29] Speaker A: I want to jump off the boat this year. If I'm brave enough for it, I think I can do it, but. [00:12:33] Speaker B: Okay, well, be very careful. Literally, last night, we were talking to Simon because he had, like, a torn rotator cuff, and then he dove off of the top of the party barge two years ago, and he, like, completely ruptured the rest of his shoulder. So it was already, like, kind of bad. But he, like, accentuated it because Matt was like, what happened to your shoulder? And he's like, oh, I had surgery. Whatever. And he was like, I had this from climbing. I had whatever. And then he was like. And then I jumped off, and then he's like. And then this is from the party barge. [00:13:05] Speaker A: I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa. [00:13:07] Speaker B: You. [00:13:07] Speaker A: Oh, no, that does. That was not allowed or, like, approved. That message was not approved. [00:13:16] Speaker B: So, anyways, I was like, I do not. I do not approve of people. [00:13:20] Speaker A: All right, well, now I'm scared of doing it. [00:13:22] Speaker B: You can pencil off or cannonball off, but don't dive. That scares me. That's petrol pencils. What? [00:13:36] Speaker A: Okay. [00:13:37] Speaker B: All right. [00:13:38] Speaker A: What's their next one? That's so deep anyways. Okay, that sounds terrible. [00:13:44] Speaker B: My next one is just seeing a bunch of bald eagles because typically down in there, the, like, walls are really tall, and there's, like, a bunch of eagle nests in there and stuff. So I'm excited to see bald eagles or golden eagles or peregrine falcons. There's a bunch of stuff in there. [00:14:00] Speaker A: There was. [00:14:01] Speaker B: We were talking about as well. Oh, my God. [00:14:04] Speaker A: What was it? [00:14:05] Speaker B: It was just like a. I don't know what the actual word for it is. Like, it's like an ibex, but, like, the Oregon version of that. It's kind of like an antelope or something. And it was on, like, one of the cliff walls, and it was tripping everyone out. Last year, like, people were freaking out that the animal was, like, stranded out on, like, a cliff edge and, like, it was gonna die. And all these Things and it was like, dude, it got down there somehow. Like it could probably get out. But it was just so funny. [00:14:31] Speaker A: There was a lot of existential crises about that poor little baby. And only if you could spot it, right, because it was like very hard to spot. [00:14:40] Speaker B: Yeah, Camouflaged. [00:14:42] Speaker A: The lake in itself has like really steep cliffs with these insane rock formations. So it was just like really unexpected. It was great, but it was like Alice in Wonderland for like 99 of the time [00:14:58] Speaker B: for sure. [00:14:59] Speaker A: Anyway. [00:15:00] Speaker B: Okay. More. [00:15:02] Speaker A: I have just one more. I'm really hoping that like I. I would love a drink that I have not had. Like, I don't want to have a Truly or a White Claw or like be sipping on seltzer. I want like, I don't know, to shake it a little bit. So I just put like yummy cocktails. So if you are thinking about doing a picture, I'll help you with that. Like I would love a raspberry. I would love like really fruit forward stuff. I don't know. [00:15:32] Speaker B: Wait, that's that you said raspberry. Because I made this sun tea on Sunday because we have a bunch of mint in our garden. So I made this just raspberry leaf and mint sun tea. And then Matt and I were just like cooking on Sunday and so I just like made a little cocktail for dinner to have with dinner. And it was so good. I put like simple syrup in it and then a little lime juice. And then we put a little bit of like sparkling water in it and vodka and it was like a raspberry lime mint. I don't know. [00:16:04] Speaker A: Oh, I can with that all day. [00:16:05] Speaker B: So refreshing and so good. [00:16:10] Speaker A: So that's really fun. [00:16:11] Speaker B: Okay, maybe we could do that if we wanted to. [00:16:13] Speaker A: Yeah. I just made like a lemonade and vodka and I had it in a big pitcher and I was just sipping on it for a normal amount of time. But it was Saturday so I was like kind of day drinking. And yeah, I think I'm like into. I would love to have a cocktail. Not sip on like endless amounts of canned seltzer. Not that I'm not a bubbly person, like we know Die Hard over here. But I do want to shake it up a little bit and just like feel a little, I don't know, elevate that experience. So that's what I wrote down. Yummy cocktails. [00:16:47] Speaker B: Nice. Very cool. Okay, my last one is just like I'm excited for like everyone just to like vibe together because it's like kind of a random group of people. I would say not Random, like, they're all my friends, but, like, there's some new people that are coming that have never been on the party barge. There's, like, you and Andrew are from out of town. There's, like, some people who are just, like, not bringing their partners, so there's, like, solo in it. And then the other girls from Portland are coming. And so it's just like, a good mix and a group of people. And I just love how, like, seeing the vibe, like, by the end of the day, like, everyone's just, like, hugging and loving and going down the slide together. And it's just, like, such a vibe. So I love the, like, good vibes. That party bridge always breaks. Like, never once have people, like, not gone along or just, like, it been weird or, like, anything like that. Like, it's just such, like, a wholesome day, and so I'm excited for good vibes. [00:17:41] Speaker A: We love that. [00:17:42] Speaker B: Yeah, we love that. [00:17:43] Speaker A: Yeah. And hopefully, you know, I'll be able to pee and life will go on. [00:17:49] Speaker B: Fingers crossed. We're gonna make sure this time. Yeah. [00:17:54] Speaker A: Yeah. And that's all we had for party march. I'm so excited. We'll probably be recording again on, like, Sunday, so we can report back at it and check us out on the socials, because I'm sure that we'll be posting shit. And by we, I mean Kelly, because I don't post anything. [00:18:09] Speaker B: It's my favorite year. Of course I'm gonna post. Yeah, for sure. [00:18:13] Speaker A: Well, the. [00:18:14] Speaker B: What we're doing. [00:18:15] Speaker A: Yeah. I do want to talk a little bit about bringing our legends back. Okay. I, like, actually practiced for this because, you know, you have to forgive me on my pronunciation, but I'm just really jazzed. I've been learning a little bit more about this individual. She wasn't on my original list. I kind of, like, am pulling. What do they call that? Pulling an audible, if you will. So Dr. Cataline Carico and Dr. Drew Weissman are noble. Noble no have won the Nobel Prize for physiology or Medicine in 2023 for creating or, like, being a really big proponent of the MRNA COVID 19 vacc scene. So we're gonna talk about. [00:19:01] Speaker B: Guys, this is news to me as well. I'm excited. [00:19:04] Speaker A: I hadn't tell you this before. This is all very new information. Yeah. Brand new information. Super prepped and ready for this one. Like I said. [00:19:11] Speaker B: Great. [00:19:12] Speaker A: I love it. Dr. Catalyn Carico and Dr. Drew Weisman. I was watching a lot of their videos, and she goes by Katie, or at least he calls her Katie. Which I is honestly one of the main reasons why, for those of you who know, you know. So Dr. Carico, Hungarian American biochemist. And you're going to just have to like, give me a little bit of space and grace on this one because, like, I don't know how to speak Hungarian or pronounce it, but she is very bubbly and very cute. She is a biochemist whose decades rejected MRNA research became the foundation for the Pfizer, BioNTech and Moderna COVID 19 vaccine. [00:19:54] Speaker B: Yeah, girl. [00:19:56] Speaker A: Yeah. 1955. She was born in Sloznok, Hungary. Did you like that? Basically, she immigrated to the US in 1985 with her husband and her young daughter and then ultimately joined the University of Pennsylvania or Penn in 1989 to pursue MRNA research full time. So I kind of get the impression that this is very humble beginnings, very interested in chemistry, went to university, which we'll talk about later on, and then came to the United States to pursue a role at Penn University specific to mRNA. So she actually went through. You're gonna love this, just like off of your hype. But she got demoted four times. She was definitely rejected. Right? She definitely was treated terribly at Penn. They never took her seriously. She had a lot of struggles, which is kind of hilarious because now that Penn. Now that they won the Nobel, they're like, penn sponsored videos all over the Internet. [00:21:04] Speaker B: And now they care about her. Interesting. Exactly. [00:21:07] Speaker A: You're taking a lot of credit, but, you know, that's like one of the things about what people say on the Internet when I'm. They're like talking about Penn and how terrible they were to her. So basically in 1990s she meets immunologist. Do you like that? It's a big word too. Dr. Drew Weissman at Penn. And it's very cute. They like, reportedly when you watch videos of him speaking about their relationship, he was like fighting for the copy machine together. And they ultimately started talking about their research and they went on to partner together and publish the key discovery of modified mRNA, which was ultimately largely ignored at the time. That was 2005. So in 2013 she decides to leave Penn. She was denied reinstatement to attend your track after being demoted four times. So she was like, peace out. She got a VP job at the BioNTech 2020. BioNTech and Pfizer, basically Pfizer owns that company. Think they're a subsidiary, something like that. And Moderna, they use the modified MRNA platform form to build COVID 19 vaccines in under a year, which is virtually unheard of. It was huge at the time. And then they won the Nobel in 2023. So. Yeah. [00:22:25] Speaker B: Wow. [00:22:26] Speaker A: I wanted to talk about her in particular because I have been doing a lot of like, meditating on resilience and like, what we have to put up with, our relationships, with our career, being in our 30s, getting closer to 40, and life didn't go like, really the way that I had planned. There's a lot that we had to deal with in 2008, 2012, Covid. It just feels like, you know, 2016 was a huge letdown and I've just been feeling like a waking nightmare having to live in the world that is dictated by people who I hate. And like the fact that this individual not only she didn't care about that. Right. Like, she went after the research that she thought was really important. She knew that it was going to be important at one point in time. She didn't let the naysayers like, bring her down. And she ultimately proved people wrong and she stepped up for herself and she did what she knew was right, which was pursuing that kind of research and just makes me feel a little bit better. We're still so young, you know, we have such time ahead of us. What's happening in the background? [00:23:40] Speaker B: Sorry, that's Matt in the bathroom. That is the current remodel action. [00:23:46] Speaker A: Work away. Yeah, I just wanted to highlight her. If you don't know anything about her, if you guys don't know anything about her, I'll post some stuff on Instagram. [00:23:58] Speaker B: I'll. [00:23:58] Speaker A: I can make that happen. It's just incredible. Her story is amazing. And yeah. [00:24:04] Speaker B: Wow. [00:24:04] Speaker A: Dr. Catalyn Carico. This is very cool. Really quick overview, guys. We didn't go into too much details, so. [00:24:10] Speaker B: No, that's incredible. And also, I had no idea, like, I mean all of the. I was going to say like, but I didn't want to be the downer. But you know, everyone who's like, they're whatever, putting a microchip in you when they put the vaccine in you or [00:24:25] Speaker A: whatever, all that bullshit conspiracy theorists deck. [00:24:29] Speaker B: Not me, not me. I believe in the COVID 19 vaccine. But also just like, yeah, there's like real people behind it who like, I'm sure that's so defeating. And just like is she already got demoted and all those other things and then have that come out. Like she made this like ground breaking vaccine in such a short period of time and then there's all these people who don't believe in it. Like, I would be heartbroken. So anyways, I'm sure she has to [00:24:55] Speaker A: deal with that on a regular basis. Like the. This True. Because she is a woman in an academic setting, so she's probably not being. Obviously she wasn't taken seriously for how long, but that didn't deter her. Right. Like, she moved forward and kept with the research decades later, knowing that it was going to be important. And then ultimately, when they had this awful, awful tragedy about to happen, the backbone of all of that time is what set us up for success. And ultimately, they estimate, like the Nobel committee or something. I saw a quote in here that they estimate two and a half million lives were saved. [00:25:35] Speaker B: Wow. [00:25:35] Speaker A: It seems really. I think that might just be here in the U.S. but there are, like, billions of people on this planet who have that particular vaccine. [00:25:44] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:45] Speaker A: And it helped, you know, maintain or, I don't know, it didn't completely eradicate. But I think what's more interesting about this, this vaccine, and I am very nervous about this particular episode because it's very scientific. So, Sam, if Josh is listening, tell him to call me and we can have him on the podcast to correct me. But the MRNA vaccine is different in that essentially you're not taking a deactivated part of the virus. You're telling your DNA to create protein that can help antibody or fight the virus to begin with. So you're kind of like utilizing your own system as a protein factory that's giving you the antibodies to combat and prepare for that kind of interaction. So it's a little bit different than other vaccines where you have very trace amounts of said, you know, poison or, I don't know, illness, pox. I don't know what other vaccines are there, like, tetanus, polio. Right. And, like, you have to, like, build up an immune system to that. But I don't know. I'm not a very technical person. I read through some things and I watched a few videos, but I'm in no way, shape or form thinking that. I think it's a little bit of a layman's way of describing it, but I'd love to have somebody on who can educate me a little bit further about some of that. But that is this one, like, that portion of the research helped thinking that you could, you know, take your own body and create your own protein. We can cut out this stuff as well, but interesting. [00:27:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:18] Speaker A: Like, that was very novel. And I think that's the reason why a lot of people just disregarded her research, because they couldn't get on board with, like, the ability to manipulate your own body in that, like, cellular molecular level. But, yeah, it turned out really important, obviously. And I just. Again, I've been. Guys, life is lifing, and things are really hard, and they're not going to get any easier. Is easier. And it's been like that for the last several years. So I've just been kind of meditating on my own resiliency and trying to, like, understand where to find the light. Right. Like, that's hard to maintain optimism, and I'm a very optimistic person. But, like, how do you maintain that when everything around you is on fire? And I really think that, like, there's a specific type of person who sees that challenge, acknowledges it, moves forward, and, like, becomes a better person. And not every human can do that. So, like, that resiliency is a characteristic that I think really highly of, which is why I thought that this was really relevant, you know, relevant to the. The amount of people she touched, the techno, the pushing forward of, like, academic thought when it comes to vaccines and, you know, taking herself a little bit more seriously outside of, like, what people say about her and believing in yourself a little bit. Like, that's the kind of characteristic that I like to instill in myself. [00:28:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:47] Speaker A: Wow. I just got, like, a little. A little bit on my soapbox. Sorry, guys. [00:28:51] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Look at her, guys. Look at her go. This resilient little lady. Okay, cool. No, it's very interesting. I do appreciate it. Hang on. Is he for real right now? [00:29:07] Speaker A: What's he doing? [00:29:07] Speaker B: What is he doing? I don't know. Why is he drilling or sanding or something? Something. Dear God, I'm gonna destroy him. Okay, thank God. [00:29:17] Speaker A: This podcast. [00:29:18] Speaker B: Oh, you can't. Okay, great. [00:29:22] Speaker A: I really can't. [00:29:23] Speaker B: Okay, well, I gotta go and make my cookbook club meal so that I can be ready for tomorrow after work. We're just maybe gonna wrap up with some gratitudes and grievances. [00:29:37] Speaker A: I was just gonna say, let's, like, skip gratitudes and grievances. I'd rather hear about, like, what your recipe is, and then I'll wish you luck, and then we'll get out of here. [00:29:45] Speaker B: Okay. So this month, actually, I could look up with the actual website. So sometimes we do cookbooks, sometimes we just do chefs, whatever. But this time we are doing a website called Feasting at Home. So it's like, all kind of. It's like a food blog, but it has all these, like, healthy, seasonal, whole food recipes. Recipes kind of like. I don't know. I think over time we've, like, come to realize with cookbook club that we all like, like, feeling like or having, like, fresh seasonal stuff for, like, depending on the time of the year, you know, because we go through all the seasons. So anyways, it's actually a really wonderful website. And I'm making the cow soy. And so I'm like. I was excited about it. So we had it in Galentine's. One of the girl. Two of the girls made it for one of our meals at Galentine's. And it's so good. And it just, like, it didn't sound super summery at the moment, but I feel like you can put all these, like, fresh herbs on top and like, all this other stuff that just makes it, like, super yummy and super versatile. And I was just excited that I could make it ahead of time. And I think there's, like, the flavor will get even better if I make it tonight and then reheat it up tomorrow for everybody. But. Yeah. So I'm making cow soy. Have you ever made cow soy before or had it? [00:31:02] Speaker A: I have never made cow soy. I've had it. [00:31:06] Speaker B: That is. [00:31:07] Speaker A: What is this? Thai coconut noodle soup? I've had it like a restaurant, but good on you. I have been slightly obsessed with my curry powder in the last two weeks. I'd say I put it on everything. I don't really care. It's so good. Just look into it. And I made, like, something with tandoori the other day, so I'm kind of in, which is really interesting. I don't normally gravitate towards Indian food, but the flavors are great. [00:31:30] Speaker B: They're slapping totally. They are hitting the spot lately. So I just love a good Thai food at home because it's kind of hard to make. I mean, not make. It's just hard to recreate, like, the flavor being as good and the depth of flavor being as good as when you get it at a restaurant. So. Yeah, yeah, we'll see. We'll see how it turns out. But yeah, we do a lot of [00:31:48] Speaker A: Asian flavor here, so get out of here. Thank you for hanging out with me. I know it's since we've had our, like, regular session, so. [00:31:56] Speaker B: No, it worked out. Thank you for doing a very cool legend spotlight. That's very awesome and, like, someone I didn't even know. So thank you for being here and we love you all so much. [00:32:11] Speaker A: Thanks for being candid. [00:32:13] Speaker B: Bye. Bye. [00:32:23] Speaker A: Peace.
